Default Why was it still called "Rob's place" when........

Rob was no longer on the show

Shirley and Roger took over the place and were in business together.

They gave the show the 80's feel but forget to remove Rob's name from the door LOL

Maybe for the same reason "Arnold's" was still called "Arnold's" long after it was sold to FONZIE . . . . .

Guess it's for recognition purposes. Especially for us viewing fans.

Probably so. Even in real life, restaurants particularly sometimes might keep the original name for a few reasons- one, because new signs do cost money.
Two- loyal customers already have brand name recognition with the original name and prefer to call it by that name.
I understand that sometimes new ownership wants to completely redo things and particularly if the previous management was doing a bad job- sometimes there is a desire to remove any connection to the previous establishment and let people know that it is a totally new thing.
However, I know of a local restaurant where no matter who currently owns the place and what the current name of it is, it is still referred to among locals by the original name because that is what they have grown up with and are familiar with and in their minds, they still think of it as that place.
Perhaps in the case of both "Rob's Place" and "Arnold's", the new owners decided that people were already familiar with those names and didn't want to change the status quo- particularly for customers who were comfortable with the original names and had many good experiences and times connected with it.

Actually, it was renamed a little bit. It was still Rob's, but it became Rob's Diner.
