Arrow The "F Troop"/"Hazel"/"The Donna Reed Show" connection

And yes, there IS one-A little-known one.On "F Troop",the late Cathy Lewis (Diedre on "Hazel"),guest starred as the Diedre-like mother of Indian Brave Johnny Eagle-Eye(Paul Petersen of "The Donna Reed Show")in the episode titled "Johnny Eagle Eye".

It's interesting sometimes to look at the roles different actors and actresses played, especially on shows from that era. We didn't have the internet growing up so the connections weren't always apparent to those of us that grew up at that time unless a particular actor made an impression on us.

Sometimes we'd recognize a character who had played a part on another show, but a lot of times we didn't.

Watching reruns of old shows from that era as an adult today, I know that I recognize a lot more of these types of "connections" than I ever did as a kid.

For example, the guy who played "Sgt Hulka" in the movie "Stripes" was once in a Twilight Zone episode. Even though I knew about the TZ episode at the time I saw "Stripes", I never made the connection until many years later

I don't think it's unusual that these types of connections exist for a number of actors. That's an interesting one that you found. I liked the show "Hazel", but don't really remember the Diedre character (I probably would if I saw the show again today). But I liked her in the Johnny Eagle Eye episode. And Petersen was good in that episode as well.

No, that's OK, I don't need a parade.

What kind of connection are you getting at about Stripes and Twilight Zone? Was it the same actor playing the same character? Tell us more, please.

Per IMDB, Warren Oates played Sgt. Hulka in Stripes. He appeared twice in the original Twlight Zone, in "The Purple Testament" and "The 7th Is Made Up of Phantoms". There is no character connection.

Correct. I did not mean to imply that he played the same character on two different shows/movies.

One time, while watching the TZ "7th" episode, I thought to myself "I've seen this guy before somewhere, but I'm not sure where". So when I looked him up on IMDB, I saw that Oates had played Sgt Hulka in the movie "Stripes".

He did play military characters in both TZ episodes as well as in Stripes. He was that type of a guy.
