CBS Renews "Under the Dome" for Season 2

CBS is staying "Under the Dome"!

The network has ordered a second season of the drama, which is based on Stephen King's novel of the same name. The 13-episode second season will kick off with an episode written by King.

The drama takes a look at the lives of the residents of Chester's Mill, who have been mysteriously trapped under an impregnable dome.



"We're excited to tell more stories about the mystery of the dome and the secrets in Chester's Mill and are thrilled to have the master storyteller himself, Stephen King, tell the first one of next season," said CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler in a statement.

Over its first season, the series has been averaging 13.84 million viewers and a 3.5 in the 18-49 demographic.

I've really been enjoying the show - hopefully they don't preempt any more episodes for golf or other stupid stuff; I had to wait two weeks before they put up the 2nd episode on demand and i could catch up.

- since then I've learned to set my DVR to record an hour-and-a-half past the scheduled end.
