"Nikita" Cast/Crew Talk Final Season at Comic-Con 2013
Comic-Con: "Nikita" Cast on “Bittersweet” Series End & Season 4 Arcs
by JEN YAMATO Friday July 19, 2013 Sadness and excitement marked the final Comic-Con panel for The CW‘s spy show "Nikita", which is set to come to an end with a six-episode midseason wrap-up. “It’s bittersweet,” said showrunner Craig Silverstein, who was joined at Comic-Con by cast members Maggie Q, Shane West, Lyndsy Fonseca, Melinda Clarke, Aaron Stanford and Noah Bean. “I’m just glad we’re able to end it and bring it to a full close. Knowing that it’s going to finish lets us finish it with a period — hopefully an exclamation mark.” The network’s decision to end the spy drama after three seasons came as a mixed blessing. Unlike many cancelled series, the cult hit will at least get to end with some closure. “My heart hurt because I have a very deep love for the cast and I’m going to miss them,” said Maggie Q. “We get to end this show with such integrity and with our heads high.” Filming on the fourth season is underway. The abbreviated run will accelerate the pace of "Nikita‘s" storytelling, said Silverstein. “What it means is you get right to the good stuff. Most seasons end with things happening one after the other, but that’s how we’re going to start this season.” Silverstein and company hinted at the return of some familiar faces as "Nikita" heads into its final run. “We’d like to get Ramon back,” he said, later noting the possibility of a Xander Berkeley return via flashback. Fan favorite Devon Sawa, who plays Division operative Owen/Sam, will be back in the first episode of Season 4. “He comes back into the fold,” said Silverstein. “Owen’s a wild card, Sam’s even more so. There’s no reason for him to be with them except he still wants revenge against Amanda for turning him into a dope for 10 years. There are certain things that bring him back into the team. He’s a very volatile element to have along.” The conclusion of "Nikita" will also dive more into the eponymous heroine’s past and the onetime mentor who lured her into Division. “There is some return to her origins before Division, before Carla Bennett, some stuff we haven’t seen before,” teased Silverstein. The show will explore Nikita’s early abandonment issues that laid the foundation for her indoctrination as a Division agent. “What was she like?” he said. “Where did this all start for her? Was it somewhere before division? It’s not going to be a greatest hits tour of things we did in Season 1 or 2.” http://www.deadline.com/2013/07/comi...on-4-maggie-q/ |

Sorry to hear that Nikita is ending after only three seasons. It would've been nice to have a full Season 4, instead of only six episodes. But at least it will end with some closure, and not a cliff-hanger like some cancelled series.
