I haven't watched this show for over ten years. I'm sure no Swedish TV channel has aired it since the mid-1990s. But I remember many episodes, and of course, this is one of them. It was really sad, but I have to agree with Jordan. The dinosaurs did die out (except those who turned into birds), everybody knows that, so the ending suited the show.

I never got to see it until it went into syndication in the mid 90's. One of the best final episodes of all time.....

I know this is an old thread but I thought I would put my two cents in here.

The whole premise of the series is basically a commentary on political and social issues that was occuring at the time when the show aired, many of which still exist almost 20 years later. What viewer's are suppose to take from the show is that we can cause our own demise if we do not slow down consumption of the earths natural resources and climate change.

If you watch the entire series, the ending should be no surprise. It was a very fitting ending to a rather clever series in my opinion.

Default “Dinosaurs”: The Most Traumatizing Series Finale Ever

The extinction of the Sinclair family was a blow to childhoods everywhere. But the episode also delivered a powerful message.

Well, the entire universe was populated by dinosaurs- it makes sense that the show would reflect what actually happened in our universe with the dinosaurs dying out. And it definitely was meant as a social action message with an environmental warning as well- this is something Jim Henson was a big believer in, definitely. In any case, "Dinosaurs" is a great Henson sitcom- I loved this as a kid. One of these days I want to go through and watch it all again on DVD.

I hated it when the baby asked "What's going to happen to us?"

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. I am glad that this show became available on DVD when one of my other favorites shows isn't out there yet: Step By Step.

Earl said, "No, this is the only world we got."

Then the baby asked the really moving question - "What's going to happen to us?"

Earl replies: "I don't know."
I have to agree with that comment so I do not see why it is uncalled for
