2012-13 season: The final numbers Part 2: Canada's Top 30 shows

Canadian TV Ratings 2012-13 Season

The final totals are in for the 2012-13 TV season in Canada and once again CTV dominated the ratings. All the details are in the above link but here are the general highlights:

-CTV had 18 of the top 30 shows among total viewers and in viewers 25-54 years old.

-CTV had 3 out of the top 5 new series including the #1 drama "The Following" (1st overall) and #1 new sitcom "Anger Management".

-The #1 rated sitcom once again is "The Big Bang Theory" with an astounding average of 4.01 million viewers weekly in prime time, 1.43 million in syndication, and 2.09 million among 25-54 year olds, the only series to attract more than 2 million. CTV also had the 2nd highest ranking sitcom "Two and a Half Men" at #4 overall.

-On a daily basis, CTV won 6 out of 7 nights in prime time, losing only on Saturdays to CBC's Hockey Night In Canada, the only CBC series to make the top 30. Another blow to CBC, which loves to boast about its close to 100% Canadian-made lineup, is that CTV also featured the highest-ranking Canadian series "Flashpoint" at #20, and the top new Canadian series "Motive", which barely missed the top 30 with 1.04 total viewers.

Tomorrow: the fun begins. Full previews of the new CBC and CITY TV schedules as we look ahead to fall 2013.
