I cannot say I have ever heard of Bob Cummings in my life before coming to this message board. I watched plenty of television as a teenager and I never knew he existed. I have never seen this TV show either, because it hasn't been syndicated in all of the places that I lived.
Reading about the show on Wikipedia, it looked interesting, and it stayed on for four years in the late 1950's. Was it a good show? So, why was this performer seemingly so under the radar after his show went off the air? I know all those "old school" performers from back in the black and white days. I never heard of Bob Cummings. Why? |

I used to watch The Bob Cummings Show sometimes on the old CBN Network in the early 1980's. That's about the only time I saw it in syndication. It came on real late at night with a bunch of other 1950's sitcoms. Before television Cummings did star in quite a few movies. One of my favorites was Alfred Hichcock's Saboteur. Cummings died quite a few years ago and it's sad that he is little remembered today. I wish Antenna TV would pick up his show.

After The Bob Cummings Show (Love That Bob) Bob had another sitcom in the early 60's that was short lived. After that he returned to apearing in movies.
