Okay, Disturbed Child, so according to your second paragraph your saying that the show would be good if it was only Jinny, Captain, CD and Nate, just the four of them?

And by the way, the so called Buffy Syndrome as people on TV call it is where a show that features the main characters being female starts to slacker off.

3 seasons is not that long. They should not have to be going back and copying dialogue from the 1st season.

2nd point: Age

Jinny's mom and dad, and how it's all impossible. We all know the story.

3rd point: Jonah

OK, I just dont like him.

If you want to even think about saying a Jinny line you have to at least try to sound like jinny, although I would probably hat raina even more if she did. God she needs to stop being so damn perky! Jinny needed to just go up to her when she said that and slap her!.

Jinny has age two years while in rehab. How the hell does that work?

I don't know about you guys but my mom got married when she was 6. Is that odd?

Jonah needs to fall on some kind of med tool, bleed and fall into a coma so that magda can look at him everyday and now she can't have him. mwhaha.

Ben, he might have age two or four years with Jinny. well for that fact do we even know if he is alive? Is he home. Did they ground him for being annonying?

and one more thing has bugged me. all the characters and around thirty or older (well the ones who count anyways). you think that they would have had an english class sometime in high school. Cause they all (not Nate) suck with Shakespeare. And not knowing The Walrus and the Carpenter. someone other then cap should have known, I mean we all knew we posted about it.

that was my rant!

I was watching the 'Designing Women' reunion the other night...it was rather schmultzy but it did make a good point about the writing being so good and that you could tell each character just by their dialogue.

TD writers have been a bit lazy stealing dialogue from previous eppies as well as not keeping continuity in the storylines.

Schmultzy...I'm not sure what it means but I saw the reunion show also and I think that's a good word to describe it!

I think your point is an incredibly valid one though. The dialogue is lazy and they're doing an awful job of establishing the character and their storylines. It pains me to watch it at times because there's so much potential with such a great cast and everything.
Blah-give us some decent writers already!

LOL,,I don't know what 'schmultzy' means either...I guess I meant that the DW reunion show although entertaining, was a little too corny for my taste. It did make a good point about how the writing can make or break a show even if the cast is top shelf.

TD cast is so awesome they deserve the best writers possible!!!!

It seems Lifetime is always cutting corners with this show. I think this last eppie was the first time they had any SF location shots since the pilot....it seems alot of the outside shots take place on LA streets or in a park near downtown Los Angeles. Also I wish they could put actors portraying good characters like Teddy or Jack on contract to keep some continuity....I mean how many actresses have portrayed Cap's daughter already? There have also been (2) Bens and I don't know how many forensic experts....I still think Bonnie's husband was the best in that role. Also there have been several dropped stories including Jinny's 'step sister', the Cap becoming a grandma, and Ben's recovery. Not to mention weird scenes like the Cap/CD scene that was already discussed in another thread. Jack's sudden decision to move to Tucson also seems to come from thin air. Is Jinny now cured since she is now on the depression medicine...is that what the red outfit means?

Regardless,, I'm invested in the core characters and will always follow TD but it would be nice to see the writing at least near the same great quality as the incredible acting on this show.

I agree with everything you said, along with the others. They start and drop things real fast. Sometimes even leave an open end on them.

I was reading casting, and they were casting for a Series regular named Stacy? Hmm... MAybe a partner for Raina?

When they casted for the Exstead kids they casted for a 15-year-old John Jr. 13-year-old Jinny... and a 7-year-old Casey. Yet in Don't Ask Jinny and Casey said they are only three years a part. Hmm....

Whatever happened with Raina's boyfriend, Dom? Yeah, he had a kid, but they said they'd talk about it, right?

What happened to Teddy?? She slept with him in Full Moon, and he vanished no talk about him or anything. You'd expect something at least be said since she was 'feeling' things between them. Then suddenly when the Season began again ta-da there's Jack, and apparently they had been together two weeks. So what? She hop out of bed with Theodore and into bed with Jack? Yet says she doesn't sleep around anymore? Doesn't make much sense.

I agree with everyone that mentioned the ages... Jinny and the others started out 32 (according to the website, right?) and Jinny is what 36? 37? Now? I can't keep up...

Magda was pregnant 12 years ago?... Wow. How's that work when she has an eight year old? She carried him for four years apparently.

What happened with Ross? Suddenly Louis is in the money, and Ross gets put to the side? Nothing said... I guess money beats out a nice decent guy any day, right? Well... at least with Cap, apparently.

What's with Cap and her boyfriends? Allen AND Ross disappeared come to think about it. Yeah, she gave Allen an ultimatum, but wouldn't he still work there? Poor guy must have lost his job... NO better yet... He TRANSFERED like Peter......And Teddy.....and Angela..... and Steven........and Nora.......

When the Series began Magda was supposed to be the one with the most 'family values'. Family Values doesn't exactly apply to everyone elses family. First sleeping with a married man... no, that wasn't bad enough... You have to get married and THEN sleep with a single man... You know, just to see how it was...

What happen to Steven? Did he die from not taking his vitamins like C.D. suggested? Poor guy always had a cold.

I could continue, but I won't.

There's a lot of open ends. Seriously, these guys are professional writers you'd at least think they'd give some explanation to some of the open storylines. Keep numbers straight at least...

I'm no profressional writer, but I keep my numbers straight, and try and close storylines. If there are storylines still open in my fan fiction (after 470 pages and counting... It's because I'm not finished yet.) I think it's the least I can do for the readers of my fan fiction. It makes things flow together better.

Now I'd like to say... Even the writers messing up dates, ages, and storylines isn't going to make me stop watching the show. I love it, and it's my favorite show... I look forward to it every Sunday. The cast is amazing... Maybe we'll get lucky, and some great writers will step up to the plate for next Season!

ya know what also really bugs me (in addition to the already mentioned stuff) Lily... in season 1 Magda says she's 19, so that makes her 21 now... unless she has that same fast aging disease... and Nate's sleeping with a girl not only 11 years younger but also a girl who's barely 21? I mean come on! What's next? Jinny starting a thing with Ben? I don't think so!

And whats really weird about that situation is that she was more serious than him.

One thing that bothers me is Jinny's depression storyline. Just a few weeks ago, she was drinking alcohol, taking oxyconton, and putting a gun in her mouth. Then she went cold turkey and now everything is peachy keen? You don't recover from severe depression that fast. It can take months or even years before you start knocking down those self-made barriers. But Jinny seemed to recover quickly and now she's back at work and everything is alright. Yeah, I know she's going to her AA meetings and therapy, but it takes awhile before there can be any breakthroughs in therapy. The only explanation for Jinny's current behavior is that she is faking being happy. That she's plastering a fake smile on her face and walking around claiming that she is doing well and that she is better because she is still deeply depressed but doesn't want to admit it. But I still think that's unbelievable because she already went through all of that. In the beginning of the season, she was feigning happiness and then she went on a downward spiral which led to drug addiction and a suicide attempt. She hit rock bottom. And once you're there, you're going to have one hell of a time trying to get yourself out. And you're not going to be putting on a show anymore because you've already done that. You're past that stage. You've reached the end of the line and it's either sink or swim. If you choose to sink, than there goes your life. But if you choose to swim, than you're going to have to work hard and be patient because things aren't going to be all sweetness and light in just a few weeks. It takes time and you're still going to be sad and angry and frustrated. Jinny was in no condition to return to work. So what if she survived drug withdrawal? There is still that severe depression that needs to be taken care of. But the writers were like, "We'll just put her back to work, get her into AA meetings, and hell, how about we throw in some therapy while we're at it?" It's not that simple. Jinny needed more time off. She needed to rest and she needed extensive therapy. The writers were doing an excellent job with her storyline up until and including Extreme Action Figures. And then they pretty much tainted the storyline by having Jinny come back all "recovered". It should be "in recovery" instead. But you wouldn't know by Jinny's behavior that she is recovering from alcoholism, drug addiction, and severe depression.

Another thing that bothers me is Magda. She used to be this tough, hard working, loyal inspector, wife, and mother. But this season she is a self-involved, lying floozy who is cheating on her husband. I thought this show was about good, honest, strong women? Magda has turned into something ugly. I don't even like her anymore. I used to respect her, but now she doesn't deserve anyone's respect.

Oh, and another thing, someone mentioned this already: What the hell happened to Teddy? Jinny spent one night with him last season and then he mysteriously vanished without a trace. There hasn't even been any mention of him. Now there's Jack, and I don't like Jack. I can't stand him. I don't think he's good for Jinny and I'm glad he's leaving. It seems to me that the writers just threw him in there to help out with Jinny's self-destruction storyline and now that she has "recovered" they don't need him anymore so they are just going to get rid of him.

But I love The Divison. It's one of my favorite shows [Buffy the Vampire Slayer being my other favorite] and sure, it has its flaws, but I'm still going to watch it. I just get annoyed with the writers sometimes.

This is old, but I totally agree about the Jinny storyline. I just got through a couple of episodes after her suicide attempt, and it is very unrealistic how she is laughing and joking with Magda already. I like her happy, but it's too soon for her to be that way.
