Anyone who has watched the exploits of Fonzie, Richie and the “Happy Days” gang has heard “sit on it.” Mark Rothman is the man responsible for coining that phrase. Now living in Farmington Hills, he was one of the head writers on “Happy Days” and “The Odd Couple” and was a co-creator and producer of “Laverne & Shirley.” He also has written for a number of other TV shows and has done screenplays. He’ll talk about his show business career and his two books, “Show Runner” and “Show Runner Two,” during upcoming appearances at libraries in Riverview and Wyandotte. Rothman will visit the Riverview Public Library, 14300 Sibley Road, at 7 p.m. March 21 and Wyandotte’s Bacon Memorial District Library at 6:30 p.m. April 16. Attendees will have a chance to ask what it was like to work with such personalities as Henry Winkler (”Happy Days”), Penny Marshall (”Laverne & Shirley”) and Tony Randall (”The Odd Couple”) during question-and-answer sessions with the writer. The events are free but registration is encouraged. Register for the Riverview event at 1-734-283-1250 and for the Wyandotte event by calling 1-734-246-8357 or visiting baconlibrary.org. |
