I'm glad that restaurants and bars no longer allow smoking. It sucked to go out for a night of fun and come home reeking of smoke. I do wish that I was back at my smoker's weight though, but not enough to start up again. I supervise a lot of 20 somethings and roughly 75% of them are regular smokers. It breaks my heart, but most of them need the nicotine buzz and they are terrified of getting fat.

I can remember the 70's too when I was a kid and there were no safe guards at all. TRUE. I HATED going to a resturaunt and smoke everywhere. It was disgusting trying to eat and offensive. If you watch and old movie on TV and see someone smoking in a HOSPITAL it;s so freakin weird? It's shocking to think they'd allow smoking in a hospital of all places? I spoke to someone much older than me, and asked them, did people really not know how bad smoking was before the surgeon general? He said, of course they knew. People weren't idiots, it was just more socially acceptable back in the day.
