okay, first of all being an actress, i know that without makeup u look really bad under the lights even is u r gorgous. Nancy was wearing mascara to make the sceen look more realistic. Like, u could tell she was crying! u know? She doesn't need waterproof or what ever...she knew it was running and so did the director. They planned it! okay? Hope that helps!

That book I believe you're talking about was Micheal something's (I think it was Maron) Make-over Magic or something like that. It had a ton of before and after pictures of stars he worked on. Nancy was in it, it was during her FOL days. I saw it cause we had it at our library. Hope that helped.

Sorry, I know this is old, but I didn't really notice Jo wearing makeup until the last few seasons, starting in like season 7. Before that, it didn't look like she had any on.
