TV Land Cancels "Retired at 35"
"Retired at 35" Cancelled after Two Seasons
by NELLIE ANDREEVA Thursday December 13, 2012 It is the end of the road for TV Land‘s comedy series "Retired at 35". I’ve learned that the cable network has opted not to order more episodes of the series starring George Segal. "Retired at 35" marks the first TV Land original series to get a cancellation. Its pilot was part of the network’s first pair of scripted pilots, ordered along with "Hot in Cleveland". "Cleveland" was subsequently put on a fast track and is now airing its fourth season, with Seasons 2,3 and 4 in the 22- to 24-episode range after a 10-episode freshman cycle. Meanwhile, "Retired at 35" aired a 10-episode second and final season this past summer for a total of 20 episodes over two cycles. It underwent creative changes between the first and second season, but ratings still dropped significantly as "Retired at 35" lost its "Hot in Cleveland" lead-in during Season 2. Airing behind the season premiere of "Cleveland", "Retired at 35‘s" series debut drew 2 million viewers. Tasked with opening a new night of original programming for TV Land this past summer on Tuesday, where it was paired with "Cleveland" repeats, "Retired" logged 606,000 viewers for its second-season premiere in June. http://www.deadline.com/2012/12/reti...r-two-seasons/ |

Thanks for the update.
. I thought "Retired at 35" was funny and I'm sorry to see it canceled. . There's not much funny about the current batch so I'm watching more & more of the classic sitcoms. . |

Good. Now if they'd just cancel the rest of their original programming.

I don't care for those shows either. They should get back to the original concept of this channel & just show classic programs.

Never saw the show, but I hope "Hot in Cleveland" STILL stays strong.

Show was just not that funny. Had potential, though.
