![]() He's been DEAD since October 19, 2010. Do we celebrate birthdays after someone is dead, and if so, how long do you continue this process? I know they mark George Washington and Abraham Lincoln's birthday on the calander but is he in the same league? |

Both in general and to Tom Bosley. You know what, he IS in the same league as these other guys you mentioned. His TV/Film career was long, and had an enormous impact on both mediums. People in just about every major country in the world know who Tom Bosley is, or at the VERY least they certainly know who Howard Cunningham is! Happy Days especially has cemented itself in the same legendary status as shows like I Love Lucy, because of how long it ran and the impact that show had on so many. So hell yes, the man absolutely still deserves a Happy Birthday! He did damn fine work and we won't ever see the likes of a Mr. C/Tom Bosley ever again really. In a very real sense, Tom Bosley's career/impact is certainly up there with greats like Lucy.I respect your opinion Antman but the way you expressed it sure didn't sit well with me

To quote James Howard "Fats" Brown in The Twilight Zone Episode "A Game of Pool" Dead? Not really. As long as people talk about you, you're not really dead. As long as they speak your name, you continue. A legend doesn't die just because the man does. |

i think it is good to remember and honor people that we care about - even if we only know them from our favorite shows - after they are gone
- really, if we think about these people once a year just to thank them for what they have done, is it really that big a deal? |

No I don't think you should celebrate or commemorate someone's birthday when they're dead except if they're close family or it's the tenth anniversary or fifty or a hundred years or some other memorable landmark in their lives.

Happy Bday Tom.......The first time I seen Tom in quite awhile, he was in a movie with Linda Lavin and I thought he didn't look well. Found out he had cancer.
