Tick Tock (2000) on VHS

Two women, who have a sort of lesbian relationship with each other, conspire to murder one of their wealthy husbands through a complex plot of blackmail, deception and seduction.

"Cheers'" John Ratzenberger plays a P.I. hired by the husband who suspects his much younger wife is having an affair.

* This movie had a great solution on how to murder someone and leave no evidence.

You bludgeon them to death while being completely naked so if their blood were to splatter on you, you would just hose yourself down outside in the garden as opposed to burning your clothes.

Just watched 2016: Obama's America on DVD. Two thumbs up, in my honest opinion.

From the back of the case:

2016: Obama's America takes audiences on a gripping visual journey into the heart of the world's most powerful office, to reveal the struggle of whether one man's past will redefine America over the next four years. The film examines the question, "If Obama wins a second term, where will we be in 2016?"

In 2008, people in America - and across the globe - hungered for a leader who would unite us and lift us out of economic turmoil and war. True to America's ideals, we invested our hopes in a new kind of president, Barack Obama. What we didn't know is that Obama is a man with a past, and in powerful ways that past defines him - who he is, how he thinks, and where he intends to take America and the world.

Immersed in exotic locales across four continents, best-selling author Dinesh D'Souza races against time to find answers to Obama's past and reveal where America will be in 2016. During this journey, he discovers how "Hope" and "Change" became radically misunderstood, and identifies new flashpoints for hot wars in mankind's greatest struggle. The journey moves quickly over the arc of the old colonial empires into America's empire of liberty, and we see the unfolding realignment of nations, as well as the shape of the global future.

Emotionally engaging, 2016: Obama's America will both confound you and make you cheer as you discover the mysteries and answers to your greatest aspirations and worst fears. LOVE HIM, HATE HIM... YOU DON'T KNOW HIM!

That movie does sound very interesting, but I think you could still leave behind evidence if the victim pulls out some of your hair during the struggle. Even if you're naked, you could still sneeze during the attack and leave some DNA somewhere, etc.

De Heineken Ontvoering (2011) on DVD
(The Heineken Kidnapping)

A Netherlands' film about Freddy Heineken's (the President of Heineken International) 1983 kidnapping.

Some liberties are taken with the story, but this is a great film.

Haunted Forest '07 (Group of friends go into the woods to try and find a secret burial ground, what they find is an angry ghost who doesn't want them there.

Had some interesting ideas, but the characters were dull, the flashbacks to the ghost's origin felt like cheesy documentary reenactments. The Japanese ghost...I mean Native American ghost looked like she stumbled out of a Japanese horror flick- they even cast a Japanese actress in the part...guess we weren't supposed to notice, or maybe she was one of the Japanese Indians from Cannibal! The Musical.

Oh, and the Adam Green that stars in this isn't the same Adam Green that directed the Hatchet films.)

Cemetery Gates '06 (A genetically mutated Tasmanian Devil is "liberated" by two eco-activists and set loose in a woodland cemetery.

I enjoyed the cheesy man-in-monster-suit costume, and over the top gore, but those were really the only good parts. Though a fun cameo appearance from effects artists Greg Nicotero and Howard Berger- no they didn't do the effects.)

Re watches....

Satan's Little Helper '04 (A young boy during Halloween becomes the helper of a man in a devil costume believing him to be Satan, not knowing the man is really a serial killer.

Fun horror flick, great concept. The boy is annoying and a little too naive at times. But it has a good Halloween atmosphere. Amanda Plummer is great as the boy's mother, and totally reminds me of a friend's mother growing up.

Written and directed by Jeff Lieberman who gave us Blue Sunshine, Squirm, and Just Before Dawn.)

Carry On Screaming '66 (The sinister Dr Watt has an evil scheme going. He's kidnapping beautiful young women and turning them into mannequins to sell to local stores...

Enjoyabe horror comedy that spoofs Hammer Horror. Part of Britain's long running "Carry On" film franchise.)
