The 46-year-old actor, who most-recently recurred on "Justified", will play Senator Gordon Hamilton, who is injured when a shootout erupts at a campaign rally, according to TVLine.com, which first reported the news. Lindsay (Anna Belknap), who is attending the rally, will be hurt in the ensuing chaos. McDonough will appear in the fourth episode of the CBS procedural's upcoming ninth season.
