I know that song titles can't be copyrighted or trademarked, but wasn't aware that applied to TV shows as well.

I guess an exception would be if the show was named after a specific character.

Robert Urich starred on Vega$ between 1978-1981. This fall CBS premieres a new show called Vegas but without the dollar sign. Same name though. lol

The upcoming series "Partners" was also used previously...Fox aired a sitcom several years ago with Vivica A. Fox and Jon Cryer with that title.

There was a sitcom on ABC titled Common Law in the fall of 1996, and there is a comedy-drama on USA Network titled Common Law that premiered in May 2012.
