i guess i'm resuscitating a really really dead thread but how could i not sound off on the timeless kim vs. donna controversy? it's the biggest throwdown celebrity deathmatch since ginger vs. mary ann.

kim richards was maybe a bit young to be groovin' on in "that way" in the hello larry days but she's a rare beauty, as anyone who ever saw tuff turf or meatballs II or escape will tell ya. she sorta put on a bit of weight, i guess, later on but whaddaya want? she had four kids! anyone who happens to get a copy of a two-dvd movie called "devil dog," she has a long interview piece on there made very recently and for being forty-something she's still scary beautiful, she looks like she's 25.

that said, donna wilkes is beautiful too. you hate to make it a competition, it's like apples and oranges in my book.

There's an interview with Kim from Entertainment tonight on YouTube at:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDSgBEDxvK0

This is actually about "Nanny and the Professor", and talks about the cast in a "Whatever happened to..." segment.

It talks about Heather Mills' marriage to Maxwell Caulfield, who was 18 years her junior... but that marriage took place in 1980, so it doesn't really date this ET segment at all... (they're still married, according to Wikipedia).

I really can't tell what year this clip was from, but Kim had already had her fourth child by that time, and it also talked about her mother's cancer. It showed Kim interacting with two of her children at her home, but there's no way of knowing if the two kids were her youngest or oldest.

Kim looks great in that interview.

There are several links to video of Richards (including scenes from "Tuff Turf" and "The Love Boat", "Meatballs II" and "Escape"). The video quality of the clips varies, of course.

These links can be found at:

i wanna say the ET clip is from 2001? i forget. nanny and the prof was also a great show, i have a bunch of it at home. N&tP and Hello Larry are both shows where i think it's criminal they haven't been released on DVD yet. and all that intrigue! the drinking binges on the set! the poor kid who committed suicide! it sounds like diff'rent strokes, where it was at least as dramatic behind the camera as in front of it.

anyway, it's funny, i think she looks good there but she's actually slimmed up since then and looks even better now. one of these days i'll get around to posting some of that devil dog interview.

and don't miss the clip from "special delivery"! it's pretty funny. i personally think KR was a little cursed by her beauty -- she actually has a good sense of comic timing but nobody ever notices cuz they get all wrapped up in how beautiful she is. not that i blame them.

i was geekin' on donna wilkes with a friend online last night. i was stunned to discover donna wilkes was the lead in that 80s movie "angel," about the prostitute who goes on a revenge killing spree? turns out hello larry was one of her few forays into anything other than freaky horror movies with titles like "schizoid." whoa.

i can't find angel on netflix, which is totally upsetting. does anyone know if it's out on dvd at all?
