Default LL Was Abused As A Child By His Mom's Ex Boyfriend

LL Cool J has a book called I Make My Own Rules. It's a very good book. I read it a couple of weeks ago. He talks about how he was abused as a child by his mom's ex boyfriend. He said her ex boyfriend threw him down the stairs as a child and he whipped LL a lot as a kid. He would make LL strip naked and whip him badly. LL said he wasn't a bad kid but this guy would just whip him because he felt like it. He would make LL get up in the middle of the night to get him something to eat. I felt so bad for LL reading this. I hate to see adults abuse kids. It's not right at all. LL said this guy used to do drugs and he had pornography magazines. LL raps about this abuse in his song Father that's on his Phenomenon album. LL also talked about his father shot his mom and his mom's father when he was a kid. Both of them lived but his grandfather died later on because the bullet wounds to his leg were too severe. LL talked about his father pushed his mom outta the car one night when they were coming from a party and she was pregnant with LL at the time. That's so sad. LL also talked about in the book that he had sex a lot with a lot of girls in his early 80's days. He said he did drugs for a minute. He also had a thing for porno. He said he jacked off one time to a porno magazine LOL. LL said he gave up porno and drugs and he said he's glad he did. I like the fact that LL changed his life around. When i read stuff like this, this isn't surprising because it seems like so many entertainers are into drugs, sex, alcohol, jewelry, cars and they spend their money foolishly. I rarely hear about entertainers that save their money and don't get caught up in drugs, sex, alcohol, jewelry and buying big houses. There's nothin wrong with having cars and a house but do you have to have 6-8 cars and 3 mansions? LOL. That's ridiculous to have all that. A person only needs 2 cars and one house.

I can relate to some of this stuff L.L. went through in his life. I would like to read this book. Where did you find it, Kev? I'm also suprised. "One Time?" LOL. I admire him for having the courage to admit that along with other things. I do agree with you that some of this stuff is very common now.

My name isn't Kev. Why you think my name is Kevin? My real name is Keith. I found the book at the library. You can probably find it at your local library. What stuff is common now? Entertainers being into sex, drugs, alcohol, spending their money foolishly?

Excuuuuse Me! Keith. That better? LOL. Do you remember the year that book came out? All that stuff is common now and probably b4 I was born but it just seems to be so glamourized now. So much has changed over the past 20 years. The percentage of profanity language has increased. When I pick up passengers in my taxi, I tend to get at least one person each weekend who will be ingnorant to ask me if I know where they can find some "stuff", "tree" some "$%#t" or plain and simple, "drugs". Things are really getting out of hand. One guy actually paid me over $100 to take him to a place where he could find drugs. Of course I knew of some bad areas but never knew of anyone that dealt drugs. You have to excuse me for calling you out of your name, Kev...I-I mean, Keith/Isaiah. LOL.

I don't remember what year the book came out. Try to find it at your local libraries. If you can't find it there, look for it online. If i was you, i'd think about changing professions because being a taxi driver is dangerous. You obviously don't care about your life doing a job like that because you're putting yourself in danger everyday.

Uh, yes I do care about my life. Driving can be risky at times, but so is being a police officer. I put myself through college and have another job as well. You have to understand Isaiah, doing cab driving is not dangerous all the time. A driver has to make wise choices as to where to pick up and he or she can avoid danger, they should do so. I work the airport a lot and hotels near the theme parks and the theme parks as well because the risk is a 102 times less. Since my attack three years ago, I have avoided certain areas. Besides, my heavenly father has got my back and gives me guidance so I don't worry when I am out.

I work a portion of the afternoon and then the night but at night I work Universal Studios and the airport and then the downtown area. If I don't feel comfortable picking up someone, then I don't. So many people get scared off when they hear the word "cab driver". Yes, there can be some scary things about it, but if the individual takes the right precautions, they will be fine. Listen to me, I sound like I am giving advice about safe sex. LOL.

Uh, bro man. U R late. Been there done that. He already did. I survived and learned from that situation. I have peace within. If you have never been down that route, you really can't draw a conclusion to the profession unless you are actually involved in it. I am not going to give it up just because someone says so. BTW, try to be a little respectful. The last thing that I am looking to be on these boards is to be dogged or disrespected. I would not do it to you or anyone else. Although we have a difference of opinion, I still think there should be some type of respect, dude.

If you don't want to be a cab driver, that is your business but don't make fun of me because I am working extremely hard to take care of myself while in school. Jesus must have my back because I am still here and happier than I have ever been and there are greater things in store for me.

Driving in NYC. Would I? Probably not because it is a bit more stressfull there than it would be down here in Orlando and I would not be up for it.
