Antenna TV
Hallmark
Hub
Me-TV

The Hub had its upfront presentation yesterday and the big highlight for us was the acquisition of three sitcoms for its primetime sitcom block! The Hub announced the acquisitions of the popular classic TV sitcoms The Facts of Life, Mork & Mindy and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch. All three series are currently not airing anywhere, as Sabrina was last seen on ABC Family in early 2011. Mork & Mindy was last seen in marathons on Syfy from about 2008-2011 from time to time. And The Facts of Life has not been on US cable since Nick at Nite and marathons on TV Land a decade ago.

The three sitcoms will join the line-up tentatively in April. More info will come in the coming weeks, so stay with us, as we can't release it yet. What will happen to the current sitcoms (Family Ties, The Wonder Years, Doogie Howser, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley and Batman)? Will some leave or will they all stay? You'll have to come on back for the actual schedule.

These three new shows are no where right now.
Good point about Laverne & Shirley being female-led. My thinking was that it fits with Happy Days since it is a spinoff. I guess Facts of Life does fit in a sense then.

Generally, I think, my point is along the lines of - they're airing Sabrina (90s/2000s sitcom), Wonder Years/Doogie (90s dramedy), Batman (60s), Happy Days/Laverne & Shirley (70s), and Family Ties/FOL (80s). Aren't they just a bit scattered? Not necessarily a bad thing, just pointing it out.

Also, glad to see 3 shows all return to syndication. But Sabrina doesn't deserve the "classic" label, that's a bit much.

very excited to see FOL back on TV again! It's been years! I think the last time it was on TV was when it aired on Hallmark channel?

and happy to see Sabrina on TV again!

I wonder what is being taken off?

Also, anyone expect they'll run the syndication length cuts of MORK & MINDY? Those weren't edited well, cutting lines of dialog rather than scenes - you'd have Robin do a line/bit, but not get the reaction, or a bit/line would be cut and you'd get the audience reaction!

Plus, let's not forget HUB pulls episodes of the various series for "questionable" content. Like those four episodes of BATMAN that feature Camp portals of Native Americans - The 2nd Season Egghead episode with Edward Everett Horton as Chief Screaming Eagle and the 3rd Season Shane episodes with Victor Lundin as Chief Standing Pat. This was confirmed by The HUB both on their Favebook page as well as to members of the "Batman 1966" Message Board)

I think Batman is the safest. It does well and they air it a lot even outside of the sitcom block.

I guess that means a lot of the FOL episodes will be pulled, examples include "Dope", which i believe, N@N even refused to air; or the teen pregnancy episode or several others which I doubt they'll air.

In fact I'm sort of surprised they'd air FOL at all, it's a bit racy for HUB. It seems more of a fit for a network like Hallmark or WE or something.
