Dick Van Dyke and real life son, Barry Van Dyke, star in these crime-drama mystery movies made between 1992 and 2002. The first three movies spawned the popular TV series that ran for eight seasons, and was followed by two more movies after the TV series ended.
'Diagnosis of a Murder' - Aired January 5, 1992 Detective Steve Sloan is convinced that Nick Osborn murdered his boss, trust-owner Russell Cord. His father, Dr. Mark Sloan, believes Osborn, his long-time patient, is innocent. Dr. Sloan discovers that other employees of the Cord Group had motive for killing their boss. Posing as a medical police consultant, Dr. Sloan starts investigating the case himself. 'House on Sycamore Street' - Aired May 1, 1992 Dr. Mark Sloan cannot accept that his former student, ambitious cosmetic surgeon Dr. Drummond, has committed suicide. Assisted by pathologist Amanda Bentley and Dr. Jack Parker, Sloan attempts to investigate the case. Using plastic surgery, Drummond and his senior partner managed to create a double of the rich banker and benefactor Gantry, who is expected to make a major donation to the community hospital. Will Gantry have his double assassinated and vanish with the donation money? 'A Twist of the Knife' - Aired February 13, 1993 Dr. Sloan suspects past girlfriend, famous heart surgeon Dr. Rachel Walters, of murdering US Senator Cabot while she was at the community hospital for a guest operation. Sloan and his crime-fighting fellow doctors Bentley and Parker finally crack her motive. Senator Cabot caused the hit-and-run accident that put her daughter into coma years ago. What they can't figure out is how Dr. Walters managed to pass a deadly bacteria to the senator in front of TV cameras? 'Town Without Pity' - Aired February 6, 2002 Dr. Mark Sloan and his detective son, Steve, venture into the desert to determine the fate of Mark's daughter and her new husband. 'Without Warning' - Aired April 26, 2002 Dr. Mark Sloan reprises his role as the crime solving doctor one last time. Dr. Sloan and his colleagues race to find the cause and develop a cure for a deadly virus that has infected a large group of Mexican workers.
