Creator Adam Reed on Burt Reynolds' "Archer" Appearance
Burt Reynolds to Guest on "Archer"
by Chris Harnick posted Oct 31st 2011 Burt Reynolds is going to mess with "Archer". The legendary actor will voice himself in 'The Man From Jupiter,' a January episode during Season 3 of the hit FX series. The episode title is a reference to Reynolds' home in Jupiter, Fla. Look for Reynolds to date Agent Sterling Archer's mother and boss, Malory. Archer won't be very pleased. "I think the only person on the planet who's a bigger fan of Burt Reynolds than me is Sterling Archer," Adam Reed, creator of "Archer", said in a statement. "Archer constantly tries to imitate Burt and always raves about Burt's movies and all-around awesomeness. So to have Burt recording voice-overs for the show was just amazing." http://www.aoltv.com/2011/10/31/burt-reynolds-archer/ |

Adam Reed on Burt Reynolds' "Archer" Appearance
1/10/12 Adam Reed talked about the guest appearance by Burt Reynolds, who voices himself in Jan. 19 "Archer" season premiere. As is fitting for a handsome, square-jawed super-spy, Archer can often be cool and dismissive, but the secret agent is endearingly starstruck in the presence of Reynolds, who is also one of Reed's pop-culture heroes. "The script was, like, writing about Archer's hero and my hero. There was a lot of adulation," Reed said, but Reynolds let Reed know that he wanted to include some self-deprecatory lines about the less successful aspects of the "Gator" star's career. "He was like, 'Let's talk about how some of my movies weren't good.' He made a lot of jokes at his own expense, so if I could think he was any cooler, that did it," Reed said. Reed added that members of the "Archer" production staff went down to Jupiter, Fla., where Reynolds lives, in order to record the actor's lines. "I think we told him that we always do that, so that he wouldn't be creeped out that we were there," Reed said with a laugh. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/0...45.html?ref=tv |
