Oh No Bad news for AMC fans...

Prospect Park Puts AMC On Hold!

Let's hope that Cameron Mathison (Ryan) doesn't give up his correspondent gig for GOOD MORNING AMERICA anytime soon, because Soaps In Depth has learned that Prospect Park has put on hold their plans to relaunch ALL MY CHILDREN on the Web!

According to our insiders, the company -- which, over the summer, acquired the licensing rights for both AMC and ONE LIFE TO LIVE from ABC -- has decided that they only need one soap opera for their new Internet channel, The Online Network. And since TOLN had gotten further along in the process with their plans for OLTL, word is that they are not moving forward with the AMC reboot. So far, Mathison and Lindsay Hartley (Cara) were the only two actors to officially sign on with Prospect Park, and we're told that while other actors were in negotiations, all discussion has been placed on hold.

Keep checking back for more updates as this story develops!

This whole online idea, to me, sounded bad from the beginning. Hearing about all of these "hold-ups", budget cuts, "negotiations"... are not good, especially when you are due to launch in January.

One Life seems to be making more progress than AMC is.

My sister went to the AMC/OLTL fan luncheons this past summer and the actors were very hush-hush about what's going on. When speaking to her one-on-one some of the actors said they don't think it will work in the long run.

I would like to but I can't reveal any specific names.

Another thing holding a lot of the actors back is looking for jobs with "real TV". Some of them began looking for other gigs before word of the online pick-up came and some cast members already got on other soaps i.e. Jacob Young and Debbie Morgan.

So a lot of the actors don't want to sign any contracts with this yet if they are actively seeking other daytime/primetime/movie gigs.

Another big blow to AMC online was losing Susan Lucci.

I felt the same way - I didn't hold out hope from the beginning. Well, we'll just have to wait and see how it all plays out - and if OLTL will make it.

I read that almost all of the OLTL cast had signed to do the show including Andrea Evans and Erica Sleaszak. None of the AMC cast seemed interested. I'm taping the rest of OLTL to see how it ends. I really like that Cord and Tina are back they along with vicki are my favorites. I checked out all the older episodes including vintage Viciki scenes on youtube when her first husband was still alive.

Oh No

All I can say is this...

The Soap Opera is a dying genre!

This really bites. I wasn't going to watch anyways because I watched for one specific very smoking hot vet...who wasn't going to go online anyways.

But, this still bites.

Well, this really saddens me. I watch several soaps, but AMC was my favorite. Plus, it's home to my all-time favorite soap couple......Jesse and Angie Hubbard. Now, they're gone forever.
