Cool My Rundown of Dark Shadows Fest 2011

I decided to head on down to the Dark Shadows Fest that was held in Brooklyn, NY at the Marriott Hotel August 19-21 today.

It was a last minute thing and I was undecided for a while about going due to the rain down here, but I eventually decided to go. I got there a little late and people were on their way out when I got to the hotel.

From what I've seen the general vibe from the cast and fans on the upcoming Dark Shadows film was mixed. Some people love the idea and can't wait to see it whereas others think it's blasphemy.

Some of the cast also expressed disappointment that they were not asked to cameo in the film.

I asked Roger Davis if he'll be appearing and he told me, "I wasn't asked to. They probably will just be little cameos that you won't even notice. There's also no guarantee it will even make the final cut of the film."

In order to get Jonathan Frid and David Selby's autograph you had to pay to attend the Banquet Dinner they had going on, which I didn't do, so I missed out on them.

However, I was happy with how I made out today. You did have to pay for the autographs but this event was really cheap with people charging at most $15.00

IIRC it may have been just $10.00 but they weren't selling any more of them by the time I got there.

It was nothing fancy - it was buffet food.

Is Jonathan and David eating at the banquet along with everyone else? Eating food and getting autographs--sounds like a win-win situation

No, you had to have your proof of purchase for the banquet in order to get in the room where they were signing.

I still say its way awesome you attended and got autographs. I would love to go to one of these DS conventions.
