These characters weren't spanked but, got slapped by their Moms.

Lionel got slapped by Louise for mouthing off about George.
Gloria got slapped by Edith in part 2 of Edith's 50th Birthday episode.

I don't recall Danny ever being spanked in the Partridge Family. Do you know what episode that happened? I know that in the episode "The Sound of Money", Shirley threatens to spank Chris, but it is never carried out.

In Bewitched, there is one episode where Tabitha turns a spoiled boy into a dog, and that boy is later spanked by his mother.
Tabitha is threatened with spankings throughout the series, but the threats are never carried out.

There is an episode of The Andy Griffith Show where Opie has a friend who is spoiled. He thinks to get what you want you throw temper tantrums and cry. It worked for the boy at first, until Andy took the boys bike. The boy and his father came to the sheriff's office to get the bike back, and then Andy showed the boys father the light. The boys father took him out back and spanked him.

In an episode of Mama's Family, Thelma is watching the reverend's son or grandson and the boy is a total brat! Once the boys parents or grandparents get back Thelma tells him what he did but they don't believe her at first until the boy acts out in front of them. He then gets the whipping of his life!

Spanking isn't encouraged as much anymore as a form of discipline. A lot of "professionals" think that other reinforcements work better. My opinion is that if a child misbehaves more than once for the same offense and is punished numerous times, like being put in the corner, privileges taken away, etc. and they still don't learn, then spanking is the next step. In this day and age, spanking is considered abuse and I disagree with that. Abuse is when a parent hits a child on the face, pulls their arm, pushes them against a wall, or knocks them to the floor, things like that. Now a swift smack on the bottom, gets the point across. At least it does to me. I was spanked for something, I got the picture. I was abused as well, so I know the difference. Why do you think their are so many children out there in this day and age that act out so much? There parents don't spank them. "Spare the rod and spoil the child."

Willie was a brat, when he was young in the early seasons, and deserved a few spankings along with Nellie. But he turned into a descent young adult by the last few seasons. I think Harriet always saved Nellie and Nancy from Nels and their well-deserved spankings.

On W and G , Karen spanked Jack. Will spanked Karen and she wanted more. Carrie smacked Big with a whip in an episode of Sex and the City. On Friends, Chandler was spanked in the butt by his boss , Doug and Rachel smacked Ross' butt while they sang "Baby got Back." to Emma.

Maude - On the episode "Phillip's Problem," Phillip was acting really bratty in that ep. to the point that Maude, who was against spanking her grandson throughout most of the episode had grown fed up of Phillip's bad behavior and spanked him.

Phillip: "Big deal!"
Maude: "Huh? You think that's a big deal, I'll show you the whole DECK!"

Thinking about Arnold on DS getting spanked, I was watching an episode of Robot Chicken and I laughed at the spanking ep. spoof!

Good Times - I think it was a S2 or S3 ep. where Michael brings home someone who was supposedly his now-newfound friend and when he got out of line at the Evans' house, James Sr. gave him the BIG MAC!
