Where Are They (the characters) Now? - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

It's 2007. Where in your mind are the characters of Ellen Morgan, Paige Clark, Adam Green, Joe Farrell, Spence Kovac and Audrey Penny? You can also include the other characters if you want.

I'll mention some a little later. I just wanted to go ahead and make this thread.

Paige married Robert Barone after she worked at an advertising agency with Lynette Scavo and Spence moved to Hollywood and became a cut-throat agent. Who knew that Spence would get the job that Paige wanted all these years?

The end of the fifth season turned out to be the end of the gang's time together. Ellen and Laurie decided to move in together (with Laurie and Holly moving into Ellen's house). Ellen's radio show job turned into a television job and she became the host of her own daytime talk show. It aired locally for the first few years, but by 2007, she can be seen worldwide. An amazing jump from bookstore owner to Talk show host, but she did it, lol. The best part is, she still lives in L.A. with Laurie (Holly's moved out by now) in the same house she lived in the final season of the show.

Adam returned from London in 1998, with a wife and a young son. He's only come back for a visit, however. He loves his life in London and has gotten another job there as a photographer. He's okay with Ellen being gay, and she's still considered his best friend (though he doesn't tell his wife that).

Joe, still run's his coffee shop, and employs Audrey, or Mrs. Farrell as she's now known. The two of them fell in love in 2003. After a long courtship, they were married in June of 2006. Sadly, Audrey's parents died in a car accident. Audrey inherited everything! She and Joe live together in the mansion. While she's very sad about her parent's deaths, Joe's glad to be living in the lap of luxary.

Spence left L.A. and went back to New York and finally became a lawyer. It was something he wanted a few years back, but didn't go through with. By 2007, Spence is a successful lawyer and divorced in 2005, after a two year marriage to a waitress he met in New York.

Once Ellen got some clout with her show, she hired Paige to be a producer for her talk show. Though Paige would rather work in the movies, this is still a great job for her and she gets to work for her best friend in the world, Ellen. Paige still hasn't settled down, though she's had many boyfriends. She still sort of loves Spence and thinks that one day they might get back together. Little does she know that on New Years Eve of this year, that will happen.

I know the OP didn't ask about pre-title change characters, but I always thought perhaps this is what might have happened to Anita and Holly (Holly Fulger's character, not Laurie's daughter.)

In the episode "The Tape," Anita passes out after seeing a video of her parents having sex. The screen fades to black and we hear Ellen say "I think she's dead!" Well...maybe she actually had a massive coronary and died after seeing the tape?

I always figured Holly married a man who treated her like a doormat, and slowly alienated her from her friends. I'm sure Ellen hung on longer than most, but eventually realized that Holly couldn't be helped if she couldn't admit she had a problem. In my world, Ellen hasn't heard from Holly in several years. She bumps into her at the supermarket and barely recognizes her. Her bubbly personality is gone. She's quiet and seems afraid of her own shadow. I don't know why my mind came up with such a downer of an ending for these two characters!
