They announced it tonight (wow, surprised they did)...as my sources said, Idol Wed/Thurs at 8:

FOX ANNOUNCES 2010-2011 MIDSEASON SCHEDULE
"AMERICAN IDOL" MOVES TO WEDNESDAYS AND THURSDAYS WITH TWO-NIGHT SEASON PREMIERE WEDNESDAY, JAN. 19 AND THURSDAY, JAN. 20

FOX TUESDAYS CONTINUE TO SING WITH DEBUT OF NEW ENSEMBLE COMEDY "MIXED SIGNALS" FOLLOWING ALL-NEW EPISODES OF "GLEE" AND "RAISING HOPE" TUESDAY, FEB. 8

NEW ANIMATED SERIES "BOB'S BURGERS" OPENS SUNDAY, JAN. 9

NEW POLICE DRAMA "THE CHICAGO CODE" BOOKS PREMIERE MONDAY, FEB. 7

NEW COMEDY "BREAKING IN" SECURES DEBUT WEDNESDAY, APRIL 6

MILLION DOLLAR MONEY DROP Returns Tuesday, Jan. 4; BONES Moves to 9:00 PM Starting Thursday, Jan. 20; Gordon Ramsay's KITCHEN NIGHTMARES Turns up the Heat Friday, Jan. 21; FRINGE Travels to Fridays Beginning Jan. 28

FOX is announcing premiere dates of new and returning series, as well as revisions to its 2010-2011 midseason schedule, including AMERICAN IDOL moving to Wednesdays and Thursdays and GLEE continuing to lead off FOX's Tuesday night of comedies featuring RAISING HOPE and the debut of MIXED SIGNALS.

Television's No. 1 series, AMERICAN IDOL, moves to Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning with a two-night premiere event Wednesday, Jan. 19 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and Thursday, Jan. 20 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). AMERICAN IDOL welcomes new judges Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, who join judge Randy Jackson and host Ryan Seacrest, and an all-new crop of hopefuls from auditions held in Austin, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, Nashville, New Orleans, San Francisco and East Rutherford, NJ.

BOB'S BURGERS, the new animated comedy about a man, his family and their burger joint, opens Sunday, Jan. 9 (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT). In the newest addition to the Sunday "Animation Domination" lineup, BOB (H. Jon Benjamin, "Archer") and his quirky family have big ideas about burgers, but fall short on service and sophistication. Despite the greasy counters, lousy location and a dearth of customers, Bob and his family are determined to make Bob's "grand re-re-re-opening" a success.

As previously announced, THE CHICAGO CODE (formerly titled "Ride-Along"), the new police drama from creator Shawn Ryan ("The Shield"), will make its anticipated debut the night after SUPER BOWL XLV, Monday, Feb. 7 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), following all-new episodes of HOUSE (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). The new fast-paced series starring Jason Clarke ("Public Enemies," "Brotherhood"), Jennifer Beals (LIE TO ME, "The L Word"), Delroy Lindo ("Kidnapped") and Matt Lauria ("Friday Night Lights") follows the Windy City's most powerful and respected cops as they navigate the city's underbelly to fight crime and expose corruption.

MIXED SIGNALS, the new relationship comedy created by Bob Fisher ("Wedding Crashers") that reveals how friendships and romances both enhance and complicate the lives of the men and women in them, will have its series premiere Tuesday, Feb. 8 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) following all-new episodes of GLEE (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and RAISING HOPE (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT). The new ensemble comedy stars David Denman ("The Office"), Nelson Franklin ("I Love You, Man"), Kris Marshall (HUMAN TARGET), Liza Lapira ("Dexter") and Aya Cash ("Law & Order: Special Victims Unit").

Additionally, FOX has picked up BREAKING IN (working title), an offbeat half-hour workplace comedy about a high-tech security firm that takes extreme - and often questionable - measures to sell their protection services. Created by Adam F. Goldberg ("Fanboys") and Seth Gordon ("Four Christmases" and the upcoming "Horrible Bosses"), the series centers on a team of uniquely skilled oddball geniuses hand-picked to work for a manipulative mastermind. Starring Christian Slater ("The Forgotten"), Bret Harrison ("Reaper") and Odette Yustman ("You Again"), the new comedy premieres Wednesday, April 6 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT) following 90-minute AMERICAN IDOL episodes (8:00-9:30 PM ET/PT).

KITCHEN NIGHTMARES serves up a new season Friday, Jan. 21 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT). Each week, Chef Gordon Ramsay will try to help turn around some of the country's most unsanitary and unsuccessful restaurants on the verge of closing their doors forever.

FOX midseason sees other changes as well. LIE TO ME reveals a special two-hour episode Monday, Jan. 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) with Dr. Cal Lightman (Tim Roth) continuing his search for the truth in its regular time period Mondays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) until Jan. 31.

GLEE continues with encores until all-new episodes begin in February with a special installment airing immediately following SUPER BOWL XLV Sunday, Feb. 6 (approximately 10:30-11:30 PM ET/7:30-8:30 PM PT). Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) GLEE leads a night of all-new episodes of FOX comedies, including RAISING HOPE (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT) and MIXED SIGNALS (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT).

MILLION DOLLAR MONEY DROP will challenge more duos to keep their $1 million with all-new episodes airing for four weeks on Tuesdays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) starting Jan. 4, plus two bonus Thursday (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) episodes on Jan. 6 and 13.

After a run of six all-new episodes in a row this fall, HUMAN TARGET springs into action with special two-hour episodes airing Wednesday, Jan. 5 and 12 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). The action-packed drama charges into its time period premiere Wednesday, Jan. 26 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) following AMERICAN IDOL (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) for three weeks.

The thrill continues when BONES moves to a new time period Thursdays (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) after AMERICAN IDOL (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) starting Jan. 20. Fan-favorite FRINGE will travel to a new night and time with all-new episodes beginning Friday, Jan. 28 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

THE CLEVELAND SHOW makes its time period premiere Sunday, Jan. 9 (9:30-10:00 PM ET/PT), with AMERICAN DAD moving to a new time a week later Sunday, Jan. 16 (7:30-8:00 PM ET/PT).

Day by day schedule is updated:
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...5&postcount=16

Notes:
* Lie to Me completes its 13 episode order on Jan. 31, while Human Target completes its 13 episode order on Feb. 9.
* Million Dollar Money Drop has 13 episodes, 6 will air in December (Dec. 20-23), 5 more on Tuesdays at 9 in January (Jan. 4-Feb. 1), and 2 on Thursdays at 8 in January (Jan. 6 and 13).

EDIT: My two cents - I think with Idol moving to Wed/Thurs and no Simon this year. It will premiere well (6s?) BUT will go down to 4s fast, which is good but will be way down from even last year. Plus Idol has been Tues/Wed for years, so that will cause a bit of a drop, too. Nets won't fear Idol anymore, unless you're Community.
WED: Wed at 8, it will be a battle between Paula's Live to Dance and Idol for a few weeks. Should be interesting. Then Idol vs. Survivor in February. Either way, both will be down as a result. Minute to Win It and America's Next Top Model (when it begins) will also be in the slot, which is now all reality, except the ABC comedies. So ABC comedies could be a down a bit, but it will be the only scripted in the hour now, so I think it will be fine (at least The Middle, not sure about Better With You). When Idol expands to two-hours come Feb. 16, it will go up against Modern Family at 9. It'll be interesting. Modern Family could beat it, I think. CBS will hold up well with Criminal Minds (should it stay in the slot). NBC will get crushed with Chase and then later America's Greatest Restaurant. Reilly obviously scheduled Idol two-hours here to go and kill the new NBC reality show.
THURS: Community will be low-mid 1s now with this. Vampire Diaries will likely take a hit, too, with maybe low 1s. Big Bang/Wipeout should hold up well, as they skew more male. Guesses for Thursday at 8pm for Jan-Feb: Idol 4.2-4.5, Big Bang 3.8-4.1/Bleep 2.4-2.7, Wipeout Winter 2.5-2.8. Idol Results will be Thursday's leader, but Grey's/Big Bang will be right there close by. Grey's will likely do better than Bang though because Idol is not up against it directly.

Bleep My Dad Says is definitely going to the low 2s (it already dipped below 3.0 a couple of times), but will Mad Love going to be wasted there? CSI is going to be 4th in the slot because of Bones, unless CBS moves The Mentalist against it?

Community might not have an overlap with AI so it probably stays mid 1s, but Perfect Couples is DOA.

Wipeout is only 8 episodes, right? Would ABC schedule a scripted show there after that? There might be some audience overlap between Bones and GA so The Office might be the winning show here?

Chase and the restaurant show were thrown under the Idol bus anyway, I don't think FOX really cared about NBC Wednesday here, but more likely aiming to be #1 on Thursdays instead of being 4th most of the time...

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/news/2...p-690105/9022/

LOS ANGELES (thefutoncritic.com) -- The news is about to get worse for FOX's "Running Wilde."

In addition to last night's installment being dropped in favor of a repeat, FOX has also pulled upcoming originals on December 19, December 26 and December 28.

Repeats of "The Simpsons" and "The Cleveland Show" will sub in for the series on December 19 and December 26, respectively, while an extra hour of "Glee" will fill the Tuesday, 9:00/8:00c hour on December 28.

In addition, encores of the series will wrap in the Saturday, midnight/11:00c slot on January 1. The network had previously planned to keep repeats of the series in the time period (a la "Brothers" last season).

It's not clear what will fill said half-hour come January 8. (Repeats of "The Good Guys" are still a go on Saturdays at 11:00/10:00c, as previously reported.)

As for the five remaining original episodes of "Running Wilde," network sources insist they'll turn up at a later date.

Thumbs up 'Running Wilde' Off the Sked? ... No So Fast, FOX!

I wonder if FOX might be re-thinking this last minute programming strategy.

Sunday's 7 pm encore got a 1.2 A18-49 and 3,540,000 P2+, a rather decent rating for ‘Running Wilde’. Let's look at how that compares to the two other Animation Domination encore series in the 7 pm Sunday timeslot:

1. Running Wilde (1 encore airing, 7-7:30 pm SUN) 1.20 A18-49, 3,540,000 P2+ viewers
2. The Simpsons (3 encore airings, 7-7:30 pm SUN) 1.17 A18-49, 2,802,000 P2+ viewers
3. The Cleveland Show (3 encore airings, 7-7:30 pm SUN) 0.97 A18-49, 2,287,000 P2+ viewers

By my calculations, the 'Running Wilde' encore out-performed both series in A18-49s and P2+, with the differential over 'The Cleveland Show' a double-digit +24% in demo and a whopping 55% in viewers.

Based on this surprisingly healthy Nielsen by 'Running Wilde' on Sunday, I think FOX has decided to hold the remaining six originals for the New Year where they will use them on Sundays at 7 pm as a lead-in to original ‘American Dad’ episodes. FOX's ever astute research department must have churned the metered markets data and found out that the ‘Running Wilde’ viewer profile is a rather good live action lead-in to their Sunday Animation Domination line-up.

Why are they bothering to run American Dad at all? Just run Bob's Burgers, let it fail and then bring ADad back in March. It worked during the Sons of Tuscon foolery in early 2010.

Have to say that I was very surprised to see that, even though its season ends on June 18, AMW won't be airing repeats throughout the summer.

Interesting decision to promote Chicago Code at that time. Maybe I shouldn't make this assumption but I'd say AMW is more of an old skewing show that it is a younger skewing show. When the people that always watch AMW turn on the TV at 9pm on Saturdays and see this show, let's say they like it and tune in next season, the show will maybe be too old skewing and then could get cancelled for not having a high enough 18-49 rating. Fox's attempt at promoting one of their new shows, if it works well with the older audiences, could actually lead to its cancellation next season.

Pav (and everyone else), what do you think of this decision by FOX? Is my reasoning/thinking totally off or does this seem like maybe unnecessary move?
