TV Guide Talks To John Corbett about "Tara" Season 3
John Corbett Previews "Tara's" New Season
Mar 28, 2011 by Megan Walsh-Boyle There's no such thing as too much John Corbett! After a sweet stint on "Parenthood" last month, the former "Sex and the City" star returns as the ultimate levelheaded hubby in Showtime's "United States of Tara". Here, Corbett tells us what's shaking on and off the show. Is Tara "cured" of her dissociative identity disorder after her breakthrough at the end of last season? [Laughs] I think the show will be over when she's better. What's the state of her marriage to Max? It's always dipped in a lot of love, but there's a lot of craziness going on, too. This season, we get to see what Max's threshold may be — how much is he really willing to put up with? In Episode 3, we're introduced to Max's hoarding mom (guest Frances Conroy). How much insight will she offer into Max's psyche? Max's dad was married to a lady with some mental problems, too, but he didn't stick around — he bailed when Max was young. That's a conflicting thing for Max. Speaking of dads, will we see your "Parenthood" character return? I talked to the producers about coming back next season and they're OK with it. I had more fun working on that show than I've had since "Northern Exposure". They are all really good improvisational actors, so to jump in and try to keep up was exciting and a lot of fun. You're turning 50 in May — any big plans? I've only had one birthday party my entire life, when I was 8 years old. I think it's time to have another. We'll play guitars, drink a couple of beers, and I'll be accepting of the 5-0. http://www.tvguide.com/News/John-Cor...a-1031168.aspx |
