This two-parter deals with the ancient and painful question: Why does God allow evil to take place?
A professional female impersonator is a family friend, and he is killed protecting Mike during a robbery. In a problem going all the way back to the book of Job, Edith angrily questions God's goodness because He didn't do anything. Mike successfully explains that we can't always understand God, and Edith then remembers the many good things God has done for her, except that she forgets to mention Archie. |

This was the one and only time that I thought Mike made sense. I remember being surprised at the dopey atheiest. I thought it was done in very good taste and could have very well helped others at the time who may have been struggling with their own faith.

I thought it was a great story, tragic as it was and it was good to see the normally happy and cheerful Edith plunged into a crisis of faith and ironic that it was Mike of all people who helped bring her back.
I don't think Mike is as much an atheist as he professes to be. I think he's more of an agnostic, myself. |
