Dan Filie, who as senior vice president drama development at Universal Television helped create the syndicated hits "Xena: Warrior Princess" and "Hercules," has died, reports the Hollywood Reporter. He was 56.
Filie died, unexpectedly but of natural causes at his home in Studio City on Jan. 13, the story notes. Filie had worked as director of current drama at NBC and more recently co-wrote the "Old Wounds" episode of Stars' hit series "Spartacus: Blood and Sand," the article says. He also wrote and produced the screenplay for the 2009 feature film "Frankenhood," a horror-comedy spoof, it notes. http://www.tvweek.com/blogs/tvbizwire/ |
