NEW YORK, N.Y. --
Ozzy Osbourne has admitted he “hated” doing the MTV reality series that made his family stars. In a new interview with AOL Music’s Spinner, to promote his upcoming album “Scream,” Ozzy said that filming the show, which turned Kelly, Jack, his wife Sharon, and their gaggle of dogs into superstars, wasn’t something that he enjoyed doing. “We had the Osbournes series, which meant we were on the television, which I f****** hated,” the heavy metal legend told the website. “I didn’t like doing that at all.” The British rocker said the reality series wasn’t meant to be as revolutionary as it became, eventually inspiring a host of family-following reality shows. “It wasn’t the intention for it to get so big,” he continued. “Once you’ve put your head in the noose you have to wait for them to pull the trap you know, it’s like you can’t get away from it. It’s just, be careful what you wish for — sometimes it happens. I go to please people around me; I just go OK and then every minute I’m getting p***** off.” http://www.accesshollywood.com/ozzy-...cess-originals |

I have been a follower of oz for about a decade and a half. Never was big fan of the show, although humorous at times. Have everything he ever recorded with sabbath and his solo stuff before the show ever came on the air. Sharon possibly pushed Oz into doing the show, and the added exposure made him a bigger star than ever. I personally don't think the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would have ever inducted him along with Sabbath if it wasen't for the popularity of the show. Without a doubt, the show inspired many other MTV realilty shows.
As a side note, i recently saw Ozzy live at MSG, and he still looks strong for his age of 62, and doing music and not tv, which is what he does best. |
