J.J. Abrams 'not working on Alias remake'....Rumors Were Not True

J.J. Abrams has revealed that he does not know anything about a remake of Alias.

Earlier this year, reports suggested that ABC is in talks to revive the spy drama.

Abrams, who created the original series, has now told E! Online that he is not sure about the status of the project.

"I know there were some discussions about that early on," he said. "But it was internal Disney discussions, not discussions with me. So I'm not sure what they're thinking now."

Abrams added: "At the moment obviously they have True Lies, which I'm sure is going to fill their need for a spy series, and we're obviously very busy at [my production company] Bad Robot. So the idea of even discussing it is going to be very delayed for a while. But it's not only up to me - if they wanted to redo it, they could do it with or without me. It's not really my decision."

However, an ABC source reportedly confirmed that the network is still interested in the project, saying: "I know we want to do an Alias reboot at some point. It's something that keeps coming up. It's just a matter of timing."
