Eddie Izzard Cast in "United States of Tara"

British comedian Eddie Izzard has booked a major recurring role on the third season of Showtime's dark comedy "United States of Tara".

According to Deadline Hollywood, Izzard will play a psychology professor who becomes fascinated with Tara (Emmy-winner Toni Collette) and her Dissociative Identity Disorder.

At first he is skeptic about Tara's condition, but later becomes a believer.

"United States of Tara" tells the story of Collette's Tara and family as they struggle with her multiple personalities.

The Showtime series begins production on season 3 in September for a 2011 premiere.

I look forward to season 3. It will be interesting to see which direction the characters will go in.
