I really, really wish I had any CTS on Illico

To update on Teletoon Retro, I'm 99% sure that their new Fall schedule will begin Monday, August 30 so I imagine they'd have to release their schedule by this coming Monday to give two weeks notice, at the least.

Sal, have you heard anything?

CTS - They are a religious station first, aren't they? Classic TV shows are not their top priority, so we can only expect so much from them.

As for Comedy Gold, they sure have repeated a lot of shows within their first week. The same episodes they showed during the week, they again showed on the weekend.

What is going on with Night Court? It is being advertised as being already on. They are advertising Kids in the Hall coming Sept. 11 but nothing about Night Court.

Okay, so, for Teletoon Retro this is in so far:

6:00am Spider-Man
6:30am Spider-Man
7:00am Inspector Gadget
7:30am Inspector Gadget
8:00am The Flintstones / Capser and Friends
8:30am Scooby-Doo
9:00am The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show
10:00am The Smurfs
10:30am Beetlejuice
11:00am Spider-Man
11:30am Inspector Gadget
12:00pm The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show
1:00pm Scooby-Doo
1:30pm Inspector Gadget
2:00pm Beetlejuice
2:30pm Reboot
3:00pm Spider-Man
3:30pm Alvin and the Chipmunks
4:00pm Scooby-Doo
4:30pm The Smurfs
5:00pm The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show
6:00pm Alvin and the Chipmunks
6:30pm The Jetsons
7:00pm Inspector Gadget
7:30pm The Yogi Bear Show

By tomorrow, the rest of the schedule should be available. This one is pretty generic though and don't take anything as a guarantee. They air different shows sometimes day to day at certain timeslots so this is definitely not 100% accurate but a good indication as to the direction their going - which, in my opinion, is a bit downhill. Not that there is a problem with any of the shows they're airing but there is now less variety. Nothing besides Casper appears to be new and it seems like a lot more shows were removed than added. It's becoming more of the same shows on a rotation a million times a day but still, it's a great station and I'll reserve judgement until I see their final schedule and an official announcement in the coming days.

Guess what, everyone? Judgement Day has arrived at last! That's right, Teletoon Retro has finally released their official fall schedule which will take effect Monday September 6th which is only a week away! Looking at it closely, I can't understand for the life of me what the big delay was about, unless they were trying to decide whether to have "Inspector Gadget" and "Spiderman" on 4 times a day or 5. The final total is 6 for each which for any channel is way too much! All right then, enough suspense! Here it is!

Teletoon Retro --- Fall 2010 Schedule --- Effective Monday, September 6

The final verdict is that the lineup looks good but it could still stand room for improvement. With all the repeats scattered throughout the day, there's enough room to fit in at least a couple more new shows so you don't have the same series showing up again every 3 or 4 hours. The prime time and early late night hours look awful, with more superheroes than you can shake a stick at, which I had mentioned a few weeks earlier as being the station's biggest weakness. But, like I said, a couple of new shows in the right spots could fix that problem nicely. On the positive side, there is still plenty of good stuff out there. The usual big guns are all coming back: Bugs Bunny, Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, The Flintstones, and two of my other favorites Huckleberry Hound and Quick Draw McGraw are returning as well, but all will be on at different days and times and the way the schedule is set up will take a while to get used to. The only new addition of note will be Casper The Friendly Ghost who will make his debut on October 4 at 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Also note that Sunday afternoons will feature the new "Retro Rewind Marathon" which will run between 1 and 4 pm and which will probably be several episodes of a particular show running for one day only or possibly different shows which follow a specific theme or pattern. At least in that time slot they're willing to try something different.

Anyway, now I can relax. The lineups are all set and we can now get on with the new season.

Their schedule isn't TERRRIBLEEE or anything but it's clearly a step down from this past season. The addition of Casper is nice but really that's a minor addition. What bothers me is their removal of a few quality shows such as: Josie & the Pussycats, The Raccoons (the only Canadian cartoon if I'm not mistaken - they need to air Stop the Smoggies on this channel ASAP), Road Runner Show, Rocky & Bullwinkle, and Superfriends. So, a total of 5 pretty well-recognized cartoons removed and 1 (minor) cartoon added = blah. I'm sort of wondering also if Casper is merely a seasonal add for Halloween similar to them adding Laff-A-Lympics to commemorate the Winter Olympics in Vancouver last February.

Nevertheless, they still have a lineup of great cartoons. It's just unfortunate that the schedule is on repeat now because they got rid of those 5 shows I mentioned so now they're just putting the same shows on again and again throughout the same day. Hopefully, they mix it up again before next August because I'm not such a big fan of this schedule.

What I hate the most is the 830-1030 portion of the schedule: Fantastic Four, Thundercats, Transformers, and GI Joe. Are you kidding me? Those four are okay but nothing to comprise a major portion of the primetime lineup.

I wish they'd have Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, and Yogi Bear from 8-10. They should be putting the most recognizable cartoons on at that time, not littering the primetime lineup with those other cartoons which I find are more for a specific type of viewer whereas pretty much everyone can enjoy the classic CLASSICS, you know?

What I'm hoping is for the Retro Rewind Marathon to showcase those 5 shows I said they're getting rid of. Or maybe they will have some new additions that aren't announced yet to comprise the marathon on Sundays. I'll be so pissed if they just show me 3 hours straight of Inspector Gadget or Spider-Man. Those are great shows but the overdose is already getting to me just looking at their new schedule!
