David Caruso has suggested that fans of CSI: Miami have a "bond" with the show.
The actor, who plays Horatio, explained that the series is successful because the cast and crew always think about the viewers. "It's all down to respecting the show's fans," he told What's On TV. "There is a real bond between the actors and the viewers. Our fans will stick with us as long as we treat them well. If people are going to take the time to tune in, you have a responsibility to take it seriously." Caruso added that the show's cast members are still excited about working on the programme. "There's still a sense of wonder in what we're doing," he said. "Just when you think you are tired and you have run out of fresh ideas, you find a new reservoir of energy." http://www.digitalspy.com/ustv/news/...-its-fans.html |

David Caruso of the one facial expression, as I always call him.

Well he didn't respect the NYPD Blue fans when he walked out on us after one year. I think the show was better without him anyway.

I never watched NYPD Blue but the show lasted 10+ seasons without him. Dennis Franz was the real star of the show, anyway - and by pairing him up with former child stars Rick Schroeder and Mark-Paul Gosselaar allowed THEM to be accepted as serious adult actors.
Lots of people in the press predicted that David Caruso would vanish after leaving NYPD Blue - and indeed, he had a couple of flop movies and a short-lived drama (Michael Hayes) that sank without a trace. Then he came back big-time with CSI: Miami - which I think may have more to do with the success of the CSI franchise than Caruso himself, but I digress. |
