Does anyone know where I can find this show on VHS or does anyone HAVE it on VHS? I'm dying to see Linda Gray's pre-DALLAS work!
Thank you. |

...of "ALL THAT GLITTERS" (about a world where women were the dominant species, while men assumed the "woman's role"), on New York's WPIX-TV in early 1977. Thirteen weeks [65 episodes] were produced, in an attempt by Norman Lear to create another popular daily syndicated "satirical soap", as he had done with "MARY HARTMAN, MARY HARTMAN". Channel 11 originally aired "ALL THAT GLITTERS" at 11:30pm, right after "MARY" on WNEW-TV (Channel 5), but after a few weeks, realized it was never going to be another success like her series, and quickly moved it directly opposite her- a bad sign that it wasn't going to be around for long. All of the episodes are tucked away in SONY's vault [they own the Norman Lear TV library], while the Paley Center for Media has only a few examples, as 'bencasey' pointed out.

It's a one joke show. They basically take every negative male trait and give them to the female characters and then take every negative female trait and give them to the males. That's it, that's the whole show. Surprised it managed to last 13 weeks.
