"Hercules: The Legendary Journeys" Season One
Through the ages of history and myth, there’s never been another hero like the mighty Hercules (Kevin Sorbo), whose awesome physical powers is only surpassed by the strength of his heart. Discover why he’s held in the imagination of countless viewers with every Season One episode of “Hercules: The Legendary Journeys”. This compelling tv series from executive producer Sam Raimi (the Spider-Man series) follows the warrior from his humble beginnings as a child born to a beautiful mortal woman and Zeus, king of the gods, to his explosive battles against power-hungry immortals, deceptive demons, massive monsters, and blood-thirsty armies. With special guest appearances by Lucy Lawless (“Xena: Warrior Princess”), Bruce Cambell (Army of Darkness), Renée O’Conner (“Xena: Warrior Princess”), and Hollywood legend Anthony Quinn, it’s an unforgettable trip into the world of legends with a man who will never rest as long as people need his help. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Xena: Warrior Princess" Season One Make way for one of the fiercest and most dynamic woman warriors to ever grace the tv screen as all 24 Season One episodes of “Xena: Warrior Princess” come to DVD. Lucy Lawless is Xena, a smart, tough, fearless fighter who travels the dangerous roads of Ancient Greece defending the innocent from the forces of darkness and seeking redemption for her cruel misdeeds of the past. Along for the adventures is her devoted friend Gabrielle (Renée O’Conner), a compassionate girl who hopes to be a warrior one day, and other legendary figures, including the formidable Hercules (special guest star Kevin Sorbo). Combining impressive displays of mythology, fantasy, and martial arts, it’s an iconic show that set the bar for all female action heroes. *The original Anchor Bay DVD releases of both shows are currently out of print.* |

As a "Hercules" / "Xena" fan I wanted to say this... these new Universal DVD editions suck.
It is bare-bones and it does not come with all of the awesome stuff featured in the original Anchor Bay DVD releases. If you are interested in either show I would track down the originals and not bother with this. Some folks don't want to bother with used items and if they want something new then I guess they would pick up these new ones. Go to this website and you can buy the originals here at very reasonable prices - http://www.legendaryheroes.com/ |
