There is a way to tell the NBC episodes from the ABC episodes:ABC episodes
ifferent theme, and other than Andy Griffith,a different cast of characters-Daughter Leanne(her first appearance was in NBC's 1992 final episode "The Assassination"),Cliff Lewis, both lawyers, and Cliff's very annoying father Billy,Ben's old nemesis(he first appeared in 1991's NBC episode "The Witness Killings")Also, with the exception of episodes "The Vacation","The Legacy","The Final Affair","The Singer","The Debt",which were ABC episodes, and very good, the other ABC episodes were just plain lousy,in comparison to the much better NBC episodes.

And "The Obsession"was an ABC episode, similar,in a way,to NBC's first season episode "The Therapist".

Actually I enjoyed a lot of the Brynn Thayer and Carol Houston episodes very much, even if overall the earlier seasons were better...! I did miss Nancy Stafford, but Julie Sommars was still around, and I found the acting to remain very good.
It's startling how much Andy's appearance changed over the course of the series... He seemed to age unnaturally quickly for that number of years. |
