Here's a little bit more.
NATALIE and JUSTIN walk down the hallway in the direction of the nearest exit. JUSTIN, walking down the hall of an all girl's school, does cause some attention. JUSTIN: I could just get used to this...walking down the hall and having all these girls looking at me. NATALIE gives JUSTIN a playful little slap on the shoulder. NATALIE: You have to admit that it was a pretty clever idea of the Eastland and Bates administrators to to come up with an exchange program where one Eastland student works on the Bates paper and one Bates student works on the Eastland paper. JUSTIN: It was even more clever to allow said students to work on newspaper assignments during free periods. NATALIE and JUSTIN reach the enterance out of the liberal arts building. A hall monitor is sitting on a chair near the doorway. She has a walkie-talkie so that she can communicate with other hall monitors. NATALIE and JUSTIN both show the hall monitor-a middle aged woman wearing her glasses so near to the end of her nose, one is surprised that they don't fall off-their newspaper passes that allows them to go off campus during free periods. The hall monitor motions with her head on the direction of the doorway, indicating that NATALIE and JUSTIN can leave. NATALIE and JUSTIN exit the building and head in the direction of the student parking lot. NATALIE: Did you get a parking space that is close to the building? JUSTIN: Oh yeah. I had to drive around for about five minutes until one became avaliable though. We started To Kill a Mockingbird in English today and it is SO boring. I can't believe that you said it was a great book. NATALIE: It is a great book. The first couple of chapters are a bit slow, but it does start to pick up. Once the trial begins it really gets good. Atticus Finch is the man! JUSTIN: I hope that you're right, because after The Age of Innocence, I'm not sure I can make it through another dull book. NATALIE: Last semester we had to read Sister Carrie, and THAT was a boring book. There were times when reading it where I just wanted to stop and throw it against the wall. I mean, I didn't think I was going to be able to get through another page. The kids walk out into the parking lot and over to JUSTIN's 1979 Monte Carlo. JUSTIN opens the passenger door for NATALIE and then let's himself into the driver's side. To be continued... |

JUSTIN turned the moter on and the radio came alive with the sound of Michael Jackson's "Beat It". As Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo kicked in, JUSTIN put the car into reverse and pulled out of the parking spot. When he had fully backed out of the space, he put the car into drive and headed through the parking lot towards the nearest exit. Like many teenagers down through the ages, he was going a little bit faster than was probably safe. At the exit, JUSTIN performed an infamous "California stop" and then pulled right out of the Eastland lot.
NATALIE and JUSTIN were sitting quietly and enjoying each other's company. The radio station playing in the car, Peekskill 100.3, was doing a double header today as "Beat It" faded out and "The Girl Is Mine", a duet between the gloved one and former Beatle Paul McCartey began. JUSTIN was driving at a good 10 miles over the speedlimit. Up ahead two men were pushing a stalled Buick from the street devider in the direction of the enterance into a Moble gas station. Realizing that he was about to collide with the front of the Buick, JUSTIN cut into the next lane without checking any of his mirrors first and came within inches of smashing into a van. The accident did not happen as the diver of the van slammed on his breaks and pulled to the right. The driver didn't have time to bring his van to a quite enough stop before he pulled up into someone's parklawn, tearing up quite a bit of grass. Holding their breaths, JUSTIN and NATALIE were looking out the rear window as the driver angerly jumped out of his van and started waving his fist in anger at JUSTIN. JUSTIN, who had been driving for less than a week, had just avoided his first accident. JUSTIN did manage to get him and NATALIE to Tzenkethi's in one piece though. |

Great to see you posting more on this Mike. Wow...Justin is a typical teen driver isn't he? Yes, I know that makes me sound like an old lady, but I have teenage nieces and nephews and it scares me to know they are out on the road.
