NBC Scores Guest Role for Jennifer Love Hewitt In New Pilot

Love Bites for Jennifer Love Hewitt. No, that’s not a snarky comment on the actress’ highly-publicized romantic travails. Rather, the newly-single Ghost Whisperer star and self-professed romantaholic has been tapped to guest star in the promising NBC pilot from Sex and the City scribe Cindy Chupack.

Details about her cameo are being kept under wraps, but a Peacock insider tells me that Hewitt will play herself. My guess? One of the show’s lovelorn leads — portrayed by Ugly Betty’s Becki Newton and My Boys‘ Jordana Spiro — will meet Hewitt at a signing for her new memoir-slash-advice book, The Day I Shot Cupid. But I’m just spitballing.

Love Bites is an anthology-esque dramedy that follows three loosely connected stories of love, dating, and marriage each week. In addition to Hewitt, the pilot’s impressive guest cast includes Lipstick Jungle’s Lindsay Price, Sex and the City’s Jason Lewis, and The Office’s Craig Robinson.
