I remember it being a pretty decent show at the time it was on, but I was 13 then and haven't seen it since. Many shows that I thought were good back then have not aged well. Or perhaps its the fact that I've aged and my tastes have changed somewhat.
I'd be curious to watch an episode or two, but I wouldn't buy the DVDs. |

No, Hello Larry wouldn't sell, for the reasons everyone above have given.
To anyone who says that a "HL" release would make a profit, or sell 4,000 or 5,000 or 10,000 sets.... do you have any idea how many sets would have to be sold in order to break even? If they sold this for $25 or $30 for a season, not too many people would pay that... and I'm not sure you can get a season of ANY series for much less than that... Nah, "HL" wouldn't do well at all...and I love Kim Richards!! |

if you compare it to other less-than stellar performing shows, you would think that they would have to sell it for UNDER $20, expect to have limited sales, and produce the cheapest package possible - I'd even try tie it in promotionally with a Diffrent Strokes release or something... |

Stranger things have happened! I disagree that it would take a miraclulous promotional plan for the set to sell. A round of airings on N@N or TVLand would help. Often just having a clip or trailer on a more popular series set, can get interest up. Given the cult following that Kim Richards has, the connection to "DS", the dubious legend of the series, and the number of fans of the late MacLain Stevenson...it isn't such a terrible stretch to believe that a "Hello, Larry" dvd set would sell reasonabley well.
Has anyone checked out the "Buffalo Bill" set? Not the best, by a longshot, but there it is for the fans. A cheaply produced dvd set is better than none at all, for the people who simply want to enjoy seeing the show again. |

I wonder why some of these "odd duck" show like Buffalo Bill get a release and some of the more huge 70's and 80's show are still waiting to be unleashed onto the fans. Sometimes I wonder who are the marketing directors of these studios.
I'm afraid if studios keep releasing too many poor selling titles we won't get some of the shows that should have been released already. I'll bet HL would outsell Buffalo Bill and That's My Mama. |
