After garnering a Golden Globe nomination for their “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs,” Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are hoping to make their feature live-action directorial debut with Sony’s “21 Jump Street.”
The duo are in negotiations to helm a big-screen adaptation of the Fox TV show about a group of young-looking cops working undercover in high schools. The project, which sees star/exec producer Jonah Hill and writer Michael Bacall on story duties, has been a high priority, with names like Catherine Hardwicke and Ruben Fleischer in the mix to sit in the director’s chair. UTA-repped Lord and Miller have been wanted men since “Cloudy,” which they also wrote, grossed a surprising $122.6 million domestically and have been meeting around town with the hopes of segueing to live action. The self-described “nerds” created the 2002 animated show “Clone High” for MTV and worked on various TV shows, including “How I Met Your Mother.” Neal Moritz is producing “21 Jump Street” with TV show creator Stephen J. Cannell. http://www.heatvisionblog.com/2009/1...er-miller.html |
