I was wondering, which version of the theme does everyone like best? The first one with Bob on his way home from work which was more gentle or the version from the later seasons which was more upbeat where Bob was shown going to work?
I personally prefer the one from the later years. |

The early one...by far.

I like the first one better, but the second is not without it's charm

I prefer the first one but I liked that the entire cast was featured in the later one. I never liked that in older shows the supporting cast were only credited at the end of the show.

I thought the first theme song had much more style and charm than the second. Also, let's not forget Jim Ignatowski's lyrics for the first theme song (as performed for Carol Kessler in a classic episode of Taxi):
"Here come Bob and Carol His wife Emily really loves him There's lots of people in his group" |

They were both great, but I preferred the second version beginning with season 4. It was jazzier. I also loved the incidental music used beginning with season 4. It also was great that the arrangements of the opening theme changed every year. But come to think of it maybe seasons 2 and 3 were the same? I cannot recall off hand.
