Grant Show is more anxious to join The CW’s new Melrose Place as his old character, Jake Hanson, now that he’s seen the show – and sexy Katie Cassidy. “I watched and I was really surprised about the feeling of nostalgia I got from it,” says Grant, admitting to a crush on Katie's character, Ella. “Every time I saw Thomas [Calabro] and Laura Leighton, it looked just like the old show. And the new kids are great."

Grant, 47, who has met with new Melrose producer Todd Slavkin, was originally invited to return as Jake, who would have been David's father. “[David] was originally going to be my son, but with Accidentally on Purpose,, we couldn’t work out the dates,” says Grant of his new CBS sitcom. Melrose
“Well, this is Melrose Place," shrugs Grant. “He may eventually end up being Jake’s son.”

Grant hopes to eventually return to the old complex and is already conceptualizing a storyline. "Originally I thought about making Jake a sleeze ball, but since Thomas [as Dr. Michael Mancini] is doing that, I think you bring Jake back as the white knight.” (BTW, Grant would feel right at home in that Melrose pool since it’s the same pool that was used for Grant’s previous series, CBS' short-lived sex romp Swingtown.)

Goody, the old characters are coming out of the woodwork! Frankly, I want them all back & the new actors out!
