Is It Still Hard For You To Watch 8 Simple Rules 4 Years After John Ritter Died?
For Me It Is Hard To Watch The Show Still, Even In The John Ritter Episodes Because All I Think Is I can't Believe He Is Dead Once In Awhile I Will Start To Tear Up. Three's Company Is Alot Easier To Watch, Mainly Because He Was On The Entire Run And I Never Tear Up When I Watch Three's Company. |

I think that's getting a little too emotionally in depth. If you like the show, then you're gonna watch it no matter what. From time to time I watch the first season and think to myself "just a few months later he died" but I don't let it get to me or anything.

OP, it's easier to watch than it is to read your post. Please don't type ever word capitalized.
I don't have any problem watching it. I think the show got slightly better after he was there. CJ and grandpa added an extra dimension to the show... it was funnier IMO without being bad and the characters became deeper as well. |

I can watch them. However, I usually tear up when I watch "Goodbye" -- I switch channels when the heavy scenes come on -- and the first half of that episode airs tonight at 6:30.
I didn't cry when it first appeared back in 2003. |

I don't have a problem watching either, but it does make me sad that he's gone. I find the older "Rules" episodes with John Ritter to be better than the ones made after his death. That "Goodbye" episode is the one that they filmed without a laugh track and the one that dealt with his death, right? That was really sad. I remember watching that one, and it was so emotional.

I don't have a problem watching it, until they air the one that deals with John Ritter's death. After I saw the entire run of the show I stopped watching it for a while and that was one of the only episodes that I remembered until I started watching it again.

I haven't watched the show in awhile but sometimes it's hard for me to watch the episodes that John was in because it's sad that he died so young and the show lost it's potential.

The Goodbye Episode still gives me chills, but when I watch back my first season DVD's, I don't have a sad moment. I think about what a great opportunity it was to see such a comedy legend before my eyes! Without the show, I would've never discovered Three's Company and the greatness of John Ritter, and I'm glad I did!

It's hard for me to watch anything with John in it. Especially 8 SR. I have Season 1 in my closet just sitting there, along with TC, and a few JR movies. I took John's death very hard. I grew up watching him. I can sort of watch TC, but i get this real sad heavy feeling i ususally change the channel. There are only two celebrity deaths i've been shooken by John's and Steve Irwin's.

I just bought season 2 yesterday. It's still sad for me to watch Goodbye. It was an excellent tribute to him, as well as the few episodes that followed it.

Not to mention that the rest of the cast did an excellent job. They were an excellent cast too.
