Bad News for "Sit Down, Shut Up" - Sitcoms Online Message Boards

Fox is moving "Sit Down, Shut Up" to the back of the bus.

The network has decided to shift the half-hour animated comedy to Sundays at 7 p.m., starting this weekend. The series had been airing 8:30 p.m. Sundays behind "The Simpsons".

"Sit Down" bowed to weak numbers two weeks ago, and it fell even further this weekend, averaging a 1.9 rating among adults 18-49. Fox still has 11 episodes of the series left in the can; only three had been slated to run this season.

The network has to decide shortly whether to order more episodes of the show, given the long lead time for animation. Monday's decision to move "Sit Down" to the low-rated 7 p.m. Sunday slot makes it highly unlikely the series will continue.

Fox will move "King of the Hill" to Sundays at 8:30, with repeats of "American Dad" shifting to 7:30.
