I vividly remember the first earthquake I ever experienced. It was Feb 28th, 2001 in Seattle. I was in this office building that had a food bank beneath it and every so often we would hear the rumbling of carts from the first floor. So that's what I thought it was but then it started rumbling so bad that the flourescent lights that hung from the ceiling started swaying back and forth. OMG, it was weird and I seriously had no idea what it was. My co-workers were literally screaming and crying. It was kind of sad and a pretty scary experience.

That's one thing I've never experienced. About the worse weather I've been through is a tropical storm.

It was quiet, dark...an other wordly air plagued the world around him. Joey tip toed softly toward the mansion as the owls hooted and the bats screeched. Or were they bats? Circling the mansion, they almost seemed to shout "Glib! Glib!" What on earth did that mean? Joey wondered. But it was no matter, he had to make his way to the mansion. It was his only hope. He was all out of flinstones vitamins and all of the stores in the small town were closed.

Suddenly, without warning, one of the bats swooped down and landed on his shoulder and ever so quietly whispered, "Pseudo science. Psychology is a pseudo science!"

Shaking with fear, Joey shooed the bat away. "I AM IN LOVE!" it shouted, hopping on and off of his shoulder. However, upon further inspection...he realized...

THAT IT WAS TOM CRUISE! AHHHHHH!!!!!

And don't tell me that's not the scariest story you've ever heard. I should get awards for that.

Okay.... whatever. Well now I'm wondering what the point of the thread was. Oh well, I'm going to treat it as an earthquake thread. Monday I had a scary experience at work. I was sitting at my desk and all of a sudden I hear this rumbling. There has been rain in the forecast so I thought that it was thunder. However it was coming too close together to be thunder. All of a sudden the floor starting shaking underneath me and you could hear this loud rumbling. I started getting really scared, thinking it was an earthquake. However none of my coworkers seemed concerned. It was just by fate that I happened to get up and walk over to the printer to get a printout when I saw what the source was. They are tearing up the street adjacent to my building and the force of the machines was causing our building to shake. You can't imagine my relief. People thought it was funny when I told them this story, but seriously, I was scared.
