Fred Willard Starring in Fed Ex Spoof Infomercials
FedEx, which made news when it did not have a commercial in the Super Bowl this year for the first time in 18 years, starts its first ever web video campaign today, July 20, 2009, the New York Times reports.
FedEx, long known for its humorous advertising, shot the videos as parody infomercials with actor Fred Willard. They can be found at YouTube. You can watch one below. “We’re still very involved in television, especially with all our sports and sponsorship support,” Steve Pacheco, director of advertising at FedEx, told the Times. “But digital advertising and communication is taking a bigger role in the overall plan, because we try to scale our media plan to be where our customers are.” http://www.tvweek.com/news/advertising/ |
