Conclusion

A police officer is escorting Blair into the cell block where Monica is.

Blair (to the officer): This place is filthy. Don't you ever clean it? Did you see how big that cockroach was that crawled across the floor? It was the size of a 1970 Chevy Impala.

Officer: This is a jail, Miss Warner, not the Las Vagas Hilton.

Blair: You are actually keeping my mother in a place like this?

Officer: Miss Warner, criminals do not get to choose where they are held. Money doesn't mean anything here. Haven't you read The Bonfire of the Vanities? It is equal treatment for all. And if your mother doesn't like it here, Miss Warner, she would be wise to remember how she got here in the first place. Remember that old saying, "Can't do the time, don't do the crime"?

Blair: That is just a tad bit melodramatic, isn't it? What exactly did my mother do, anyway?

Officer: I'll leave that to her to explain.

The officer leads Blair down to the last cell on the right where her mother is.

Officer: I'll leave you two ladies alone to talk.

The officer leaves the cell block.

Monica: Thanks for coming, honey.

Blair: Mother, what are you doing here? Who is looking after Bailey?

Monica: Steve is looking after Bailey. She has been spending the last few days with her father.

Blair: Well, that answers that question. Now why are you in jail, mother?

Monica: Well, I was arrested for assault and battery.

Blair: What!? Mother, you're joking, right?

Monica: I was feeling kind of down this morning. So I decided to go to Bloomingdales to do a little shopping. You know how shopping always makes me feel better. Well, anyway, there was this guy who kept calling me "babydoll" and "honeybunch", I told him to leave me alone, and he just continued, so I slapped him. The store security called the police and I was arrested for assault and battery. According to that gentleman in blue who brought you in here, I should have taken my complaint to store security instead of slapping the man.

Blair: Oh, what a relief. I thought it was something serious.

Monica: It is something serious, Blair! Do you know that they serverd me for lunch? A piece of bread with ketchup spread on it. That and water. This has been the single worst day of my life.

Blair: You're telling me.

Later on, Blair comes walking into the house. Jo, Natalie, Tootie, Beverly Ann and Andy are sitting around the living room talking. Blair takes a seat on the couch.

Beverly Ann: Is your mother okay, Blair?

Blair: Yeah. The police decided to drop the charges and she was released an hour ago. I think that I am just gonna go to bed. I want to get this awful day behind me. Goodnight, everyone.

Everyone wishes Blair a goodnight and she heads up to bed.

THE END

Thanks, Kelly. The ketchup joke was a little nod to you. I was going to have Jo finding out at the end of the story that there was someone going around calling themself Jo Jr. as a little nod to Jodi. It seemd out of place though since this was a Blair story. Maybe next time.

Jenny, so that you don't feel left out, I want you to know that there will be a little reference for you in the CIC story that I am still working out in my head.

Anyone interested in checking out my first FOL fanfic, here it is. I should warn everyone in advance, that it is not very good.

I loved it Mike! It was really funny. I can tell you've grown a lot as a writer since you wrote this, but it was still really good. Poor Blair...that was the day from heck!

My first FOL fanfic is somewhere on this board too, like page 6 or 7. When I re-read it I can tell how much my writing has changed. It's still one of my favs though...I was proud of it at the time. I think everything we write holds a special place in our hearts...you should be proud of this story. It's funny, has a good plot, and honors your favorite character. I also like that it was season 8, this story would fit in really well with the season 8 eps. I love reading your stuff!

I don't even have the courage to go back and read this story. I'm like an actor who can't watch his own films. I'm glad that you liked it though.
