Default Bram and Alice CANCELED

Despite the surprising success of "Becker" on Sunday nights, such good fortune couldn't spill over into lead-out "Bram & Alice" as CBS has canceled the freshman comedy after four weeks on the air. The series fell 20% to a 2.0 rating and 4 share in the 18-49 demographic for its latest airing, a last place finish among the big four networks. Overall the series was performing 26% worse in total viewers than its previous time slot holder, the long canceled "The Education of Max Bickford." Look for an assortment of comedy repeats to fill the slot for the remainder of sweeps. No permanent replacement has been named however CBS has a host of comedies warming up for midseason: the Nathan Lane political comedy "Life of the Party," the series version of "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" and season two of "Baby Bob."

So is Becker secure? What kind of ratings is it getting?

I assme that this will be its new spot unless The Simpsons start to slaughter it.

Becker has been ranking in the 40's, and at times winning it's timeslot. I am so disappointed....the show was finally getting off to a great start...and that crappy network had to cancel it.

Default Screw CBS

I offically hate CBS. First they canceled "George and Leo", then they canceled "The Fugitive", then they canceled "The Ellen Show", and now they've canceled "Bram and Alice". I already hate NBC for the way they treated "NewsRadio", and Fox for the way they canceled "The Tick" and treated "Andy Richter" badly. So all I'll watch now is ABC and "8 Simple Rules..." and "Less Than Perfect". Thank God for TV Land and the classics.

I am a disappointed, for I thought Bram And Alice was a pretty good show.
Sure, I would have changed a few things, like dumping the supporting characters (with the exception of Paul, Bram's assistant) and focusing more on the relationship betwen Bram and his long lost daughter, but I guess it's too little too late.

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - CBS has suffered its first cancellation of the season,
dropping the Sunday-night comedy "Bram and Alice" after four episodes.

The series, starring Alfred Molina ("Ladies Man," "Chocolat" ) as an oversexed,
washed-up novelist and Traylor Howard ("Two Guys and a Girl") as his long-lost
daughter, earned some of the worst reviews among the crop of new shows.

Audiences didn't give it much love either: After debuting to 10.9 million sets of eyes, the
show lost viewers every week, bottoming out at 7.3 million Sunday (Oct. 27). Its
four-week average was 9.1 million viewers, well behind its lead-in, "Becker," which is
averaging a respectable 10.7 million viewers at 8 p.m.

"Bram and Alice" becomes the fourth new show of the season to get the ax. It joins
ABC's "Push, Nevada" and "That Was Then," FOX's "girls club."

Two older shows, The WB's "Off Centre" and NBC's "Providence," are also going
dark in the coming weeks.

CBS picked up four of its new series -- "Still Standing," "CSI: Miami," "Without a
Trace" and "Hack" -- earlier this week. The network has yet to make a decision on
"Robbery Homicide Division" and "Presidio Med."

A CBS spokeswoman says the network hasn't settled on a plan to fill the slot. The
James Bond movie "The World Is Not Enough" was already scheduled to begin at
8:30 this Sunday (Nov. 3). A repeat of one of the network's other comedies or an NFL
overrun will likely air Nov. 10.

I had no interest in Bram and Alice. I wish they would have stayed with Becker on Mondays...that was a powerhouse for CBS...heres what it should look like:

Mondays

8:00-Becker
8:30-Yes, Dear
9:00-King of Queens
9:30-Everybody Loves Raymond

I don't care how they put it, but Becker should be there!

My dad once worked with BOTH Katie Finnerian and Roger Bart from B&A, while he was an assistant stage managed on a Broadway concert benefit for which they had worked together in. I even met them both....Roger twice, Katie once.
