Default Walter and Emily

This was a charming sitcom from 1991-92 that starred Brian Keith and Cloris Leachman as the title characters who were a retired couple that were now helping to raise their grandson (Matt Lawrence) while their divorced son was often on the road. Although sometimes they had sitcom misunderstandings, they never were at each other's throats and there was a strong, warm bond. I think the last episode dealt with their ex-daughter-in-law visiting the family and the son considering a reconsilliation so I'm not sure if that meant the producers knew the show was ending at the time and decided to wrap the format but I think it was a fun show while it lasted. Anyone else remember it?

I remember that show, but not very well. I think I watched it a couple of times.

I remember the show as well - I watched a couple of episodes, but I remember I didn't find any chemistry between Keith and Leachman, so I tuned out.

I think it aired on Saturday nights - on NBC, if I'm not mistaken.

I remember it, Cloris was fresh from her run on FOL, while Brian had wrapped up Hardcastle & McCormick, I think. I thought it was strange it didn't get a renewal, but I don't rightly recall it being a ratings loser.

I remember the son slept on the floor of the grandson's room. Did that really happen on the show or am I just imagining it?
